GGR201RCDS GEORGE FOREMAN® INDOOR / OUTDOOR GRILL IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS When using electrical appliance, basic safety precautions should always be followed, including the following: 1. Read all instructions. 2. Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs. 3. To protect against electrical shock do not immerse cord, plugs, or appliance in water or other liquid. 4. Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children. 5. Unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow to cool before putting on or taking off parts, and before cleaning the appliance. 6. Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug or after the appliance malfunctions or has been damaged in any manner. Return appliance to the nearest authorized service facility for examination, repair or adjustment. 7. The use of accessory attachments not recommended by the appliance manufacturer may cause injuries. 8. Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter, or touch hot surfaces. 9. Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or in a heated oven. 10. Do not place Grill Base or Pedestal on top of hot surface. 11. Extreme caution must be used when moving an appliance containing hot oil or other hot liquids. Allow grease or oil to cool before disposal. 12. Always attach Temperature Control Probe to Grill before plugging cord into wall outlet. To disconnect, turn Temperature Control Probe to “Off”, then remove plug from wall outlet. 13. Do not use appliance for other than intended use. 14. Fuel, such as charcoal briquettes, is not to be used with appliance. 15. Use only on properly grounded outlet. 16. CAUTION – To ensure continued protection against risk of electric shock, connect to properly grounded outlets only. 17. CAUTION – To reduce the risk of electric shock, keep extension cord connection dry and off the ground SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS Household Use Only 2 ADDITIONAL IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS WARNING: This appliance produces heat and escaping steam during use. Proper precautions must be taken to prevent risk of burns, fire or other injury to persons or damage to property. When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock and injury to persons, including the following : Never use your INDOOR/OUTDOOR BARBEQUE GRILL without the Grill Base. 1. All users of this appliance must read and understand this Owner’s Manual before operating or cleaning this appliance. 2. Cord to this appliance should be plugged into a 120V AC electrical outlet only. 3. If this appliance begins to malfunction during use, immediately unplug the cord. Do not use or attempt to repair the malfunctioning appliance. 4. If this appliance falls or accidentally becomes immersed in water, unplug it from the outlet immediately. Do not reach into the water! 5. When using this appliance, provide adequate air space above and on the sides of the unit for air circulation. Do not operate this appliance if it is near or touching curtains, wall coverings, clothing or other flammable materials. 6. Do not place any of the following materials in or on the Grill Plate : paper, plastic and the like. 7. Do not clean with metal scouring pads or harsh abrasives. TO do so will damage the non-stick coating. 8. This appliance is not for use by children. 9. Do not use while standing in a damp area. 10. Do not attempt to dislodge food or to clean the grill when it is hot. 11. Do not leave this appliance unattended while in use. 12. Do not operate the Grill without the Drip Tray in place. 3 Grounded 3-Conductor Plug This appliance is equipped with a grounded-type 3-wire cord (3-prong plug) the plug will only fit into an electrical outlet made for a 3-prong plug. This is a safety feature. If the plug should fail to fit the outlet, contact an electrician to replace the obsolete outlet. Do not attempt to defeat this safety feature. Short Cord Instructions A short power supply cord is to be provided to reduce the risk resulting from becoming entangled in or tripping over a longer cord. An extension cords is available and may be used if care is exercised in their use. If an extension cord is used, the marked electrical rating of the extension cord should be at least as great as the electrical rating of the appliance. If the appliance is of the grounded type, the extension cord should be a grounding 3-wire cord. The extension cord should be arranged so that it will not drape over the countertop or tabletop where it can be pulled on by children or tripped over unintentionally. Outdoor extension cords should be used with outdoor use products and are surface marked with suffix letters”W-A” and with a tag stating” Suitable for Use with Outdoor Appliance.” The connection to an extension cord should be kept dry and off the ground.
