This HOLD function prevents any unwanted function changes during PLAY or STOP mode. Slide HOLD switch to the arrow direction (or opposite) to turn the function ON (OFF). Open the battery compartment cover and insert the batteries in the battery compartment following the polarity diagram located inside. You can operate this unit with two "AA" rechargeable batteries.
