The treble level is now pre-set for the current type of broadcast. 4. Repeat step 1, except set the desired bass (BAS) level for the current broadcast and set this level using the VOL / buttons. While BAS is displayed, press and hold the P1 button until P_1 appears to the left of the BAS display. The bass level is now pre-set for the current type of broadcast. 5. Repeat step 1, except set the desired balance (BAL) between the left and right speakers for the current broadcast, and set this level using the VOL / buttons. While BAL is displayed, press and hold the P1 button until P_1 appears to the left of the BAL display. The speaker balance is now pre-set for the current type of broadcast. 6. Repeat step 1, except set the desired fade (FAD) ratio between the front and rear speakers for the current broadcast, and set this level using the VOL / buttons. While FAD is displayed, press and hold the P1 button until P_1 appears to the left of the FAD display. The speaker fade ratio is now pre-set for the current type of broadcast. This procedure can be repeated for other types of broadcast content using the P2 and P3 buttons in the same manner as described. br LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY PANEL The Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) panel displays the frequency, time, and activated functions. NOTE: It is a characteristic of LCD panels that, if subjected to cold temperatures for an extended period of time, they may take longer to illuminate than under normal conditions. In addition, the visibility of the numbers on the LCD may slightly decrease. The LCD read-out will return to normal when the temperature increases to a normal range. bs MODE SELECTION The MODE button provides selection of the Compact Disc source (CD Player or CD Changer). When no CD Changer is connected, and a disc is loaded into the integral CD Player, the disc begins playing. If the MODE switch is pressed, no change will occur. However, when a CD Changer is connected, pressing the MODE switch causes the CD changer to begin playing. Subsequent MODE switch activation from this point results in switching between the CD Player and the Changer. To return to radio operation, press the BAND switch. bt DISC SLOT Gently insert the disc into the front panel slot (label surface facing up) until the soft-loading mechanism engages and pulls the disc in. The LOAD indication will momentarily appear on the display. The ( ) indication illuminates and becomes animated, and the track number (01) and CD (Compact Disc) appears on the display panel. CAUTION: This unit is designed for play of standard 5" (12cm) compact discs ONLY. Do not attempt to use 3" (8cm) CD-Singles in this unit, either with or without an adapter, as damage to the player and/or disc can occur. Such damage will not be covered by the Warranty on this product. bu TRACK SELECT ( / ) During disc play the Track Select functions are performed by the TUN/TRK/SEK button; track select is used to quickly access the beginning of a particular track. Each time the Forward Track Select ( ) side of the button is pressed and released, the next higher track number will be selected as shown on the display panel. Similarly, each time the Backward Track Select ( ) side of the button is pressed, the next lower track number will be selected as shown on the display panel. cl CUE/REVIEW FUNCTIONS ( / ) During disc play high-speed audible search to any section of the -7 disc can be made by the Cue and Review functions of the TUNE TRACK button. Press and hold the Cue ( ) side of the button to advance rapidly in the forward direction; the advancing disc playing time will be shown on the display panel, and the disc symbol rotates rapidly in the clockwise direction. Press the Review ( ) side of the button to advance rapidly in the backward direction; the decreasing disc playing time will be shown on the display panel, and the disc symbol rotates rapidly in the counterclockwise direction. During either function, the elapsed time within each track will automatically be shown on the display panel. cm DISC PLAY/PAUSE BUTTONS When a disc is loaded into the player, LOAD momentarily appears on the display, the symbol lights, and CD appears. These indications are followed by display of the disc track number (01, etc.) as the disc begins to play. To stop disc play and switch to CD changer operation (when connected), press the MODE button. To return to disc player operation, press the MODE button again; to pause disc player operation, press the PAUSE button; the symbol will flash on the display. To return to disc play, press the PAUSE button again. To return to radio operation, press the BAND button. cn TRACK SCAN SELECTOR (SCAN) During disc player operation, press this button to play the first 10 seconds of each track on the disc (SCAN will appear on the display panel). When a desired track is reached, press the SCAN button again to cancel the function (SCAN will disappear from the display panel) and play of the selected track will continue. Scan m...
