not included. *Make sure you have all the parts pictured above before using your child restraint. If any parts are missing, call Consumer Affairs at 1-800-992-6624. Step 1: Remove Fabric and Plastic Covers Detach foot-end of fabric cover from shell by unsnapping and removing adjuster strap and buckle from cover. Fold cover back as shown in figure 1b to expose the plastic covers on the left and right. Slide wrench tool underneath lower end of plastic cover to pop open. Retrofit Kit Instruction Manual Models Affected Combi Centre, Centre ARB, Shuttle and associated Travel Systems containing the Centre and Shuttle. Model numbers affected are: 8065, 8074, 8086, 8087 and 8520 and associated Travel Systems containing the Centre and Shuttle (Model #4400, 4515, 4520) Child restraints manufactured prior to 12/15/2007 are affected by this recall. Step 2: Remove Screw and Washer 3a. While holding back plastic cover, use phillips-head screwdriver to remove screw and washer as shown in figure 3b. 3b. Step 3: Assemble Spring Place screw and washer into spring loop. Step 4: Attach Spring Place the assembled spring into the screw hole. CAUTION: Tighten the screw until it is snug. Do not over-tighten. 6a. Left Side Using the slotted end of wrench tool provided, push hook and insert directly above current spring onto metal bracket as shown in figure 6b. CAUTION: Make sure the hook is attached to the bracket and NOT attached to the spring. *See following page for correct and incorrect placement. -2- Correct Spring should be attached to metal bracket as shown below. Permanent Metal Spring Bracket Spring Assembly Incorrect Spring should NOT be attached to permanent spring as shown below. Permanent Spring Metal Bracket Spring Assembly -3- Step 5: Reattach Covers 7a. Ensure belt does not get caught underneath plastic cover. 7b. Reattach plastic cover and press down to snap in place as shown. Repeat steps 2 through 7b on the opposite side of child restraint. 8. Route buckle and adjuster strap through fabric cover and reattach. Once both springs have been installed, place green inspected by label on the lower left hand side of the car seat as shown. This will confirm that your seat has been remedied. *The addition of this spring will cause the attachment and removal of the child restraint to the base and stroller to require slightly more force.
