Note: The Caddie model is not a CTS model. These fitting instructions relate only to fitting to Chariot trailer models from 2006 onwards. You can find the fitting instructions for 2003 - 2005 Chariot models on our website “All trailers that are suitable can be folded with the baby seat fitted in situ. Safety note! The Chariot Baby Seat is suitable for carrying babies aged between one and ten months of age safely. The baby may not exceed 75cm in length. The maximum weight of the child should not exceed 10kg. Parts supplied: Baby seat, telescopic tube, bungee cord 2 countersunk bolts with nylok nuts, 2 machine bolts with nylok nuts, 2 D rings Note: When fitting the baby seat to post-2006 Chariot models, the enclosed screws are not needed. In this instance they are also unsuitable for use as replacement screws. The screw set is only needed for 2003 - 2005 Chariot models. The bungee cord is only needed for the Corsaire XL and Captain XL models. Note: When fitting the baby seat to a two seater trailer, the telescopic tube is required, but for a single seater trailer the D-rings should be used. Note: The baby seat is only approved for Chariot CTS models from the 2003 model onwards. These models have the following distinguishing features: -Drilled holes on the front undersides of the upper side frame tubes, which as from the 2006 model also have threaded bushes -All lap belts have adjustable length -Lap belts securely attached to the frame The baby seat is not designed to be fitted to older models. Please note: We reserve the right to make changings relating to production. If in doubt ask your specialist dealer. 1 1. Undoing the Baby Seat Securing Straps On delivery, the four baby seat securing straps are threaded through the relevant fasteners. When secu ring the seat they have to be pulled out of the fasteners. Fitting to Two Seater Chariot Trailers 2.1 Preliminary steps 2.1.1 Fitting the Telescopic Tube The telescopic tube is secured at the front to the side frame tubes. There are already screws inserted in the threaded bushes for securing the telescopic tube to the Chariot CTS two seaters. Locate the aluminium profile of the telescopic tube behind the side tube of the basic unit (in other words to the inside, In the forward side frame tubes there are holes with threaded bushes for fitting the telescopic tube. Please use only these screws – the screws which you might find supplied with the baby seats are no longer required and do not fit. Please note: These are imperial thread size screws (in inches), so standard metric thread screws are not suitable as replacements. 2 Final position facing the passenger compartment) and align the holes of the frame tube and aluminium profile. Make sure that you insert the screw exactly perpendicular to the frame tube so that it properly engages the threaded bush. Screw in using a suitable screwdriver, but do not tighten. Then screw in the screw on the other side. Only then should you tighten both screws. Please note: Always screw on the telescopic tube to the side of the frame tube that is opposite the threaded bush, in other words from the inside of the vehicle. Fitted telescopic tube, shown from inside the trailer. 2.1.2 Refitting the fastex buckles for centre-fitting of the baby seat Note: The baby seat can be either fitted to one side or in the centre. This step should only be carried out if you want to fit the baby seat in the centre. For centre-fitting the fastex buckles on the two ends of the lap belts need to be swapped round. After swapping them round, thread the fastex buckles as shown in the illustration. Arrangement of fastex buckles needed for centre-fitting of the baby seat Front view. 2.2 Securing the Baby Seat 2.2.1 Securing on the Comfort and Cheetah2 models First connect the fastex buckles on the underside of the baby seat with their counterparts on the lap belt ends. For side-fitting, use the belt ends of the lap belt of the side in question. For fitting in the centre, use the central belt ends of both lap belts. Correct positioning of the baby seat.
