Now, for the first time, you, your friends and your entire family can play El Chavo Loteria! Contents: 8 Tablas (Gameboards) 54 Cards 80 Tokens Instructions Getting Started: Each player picks one of the eight Tablas and places it in front of themselves. If this is your first time playing, “pop” the tokens out and place them in a pile so that everyone can reach them. Next, shuffle the cards and place them facedown. Pick one person to be the Caller. The Caller can either be a player in the game or act solely as the Caller. How to Play: Loteria is very similar to the game of bingo but instead of just numbers, players must match up El Chavo images. At the beginning of each round, the Caller turns over the top card of the deck and announces what is on the card. If any player has that image on their Tabla, a token is placed over that image. How to Win: Before starting the game, players should decide the amount of tokens and the formation that is needed to win. These are the most common formations but players can be creative and create their own: • Four Across – Four tokens in one row either horizontal, vertical or diagonal. • Four Corners – One token on each corner of the Tabla. • Full Board – All 16 spaces on the Tabla filled. Once a player has won, they should yell “Loteria!” The Caller: As mentioned above, the Caller can be one of the players in the game, but sometimes it can be a lot more fun when the Caller is not in the game. Traditionally, the Caller often reveals the image in a riddle instead of simply stating what it is. For example, if the Caller draws the card with Senor Barriga, instead of simply saying “Senor Barriga,” the Caller may say something like “he is the landlord.” Or, for example, if the Caller picks a card with an image of a Ham and Cheese sandwich, the Caller can say “this is Chavo’s favorite food.” Sometimes the Caller’s riddles can be the best part of the game. ©2008 Fundex Games, Ltd.
