• If your battery is old and will not accept a charge, do not leave it in the vehicle. Always remove a dead battery from the vehicle. Charger Charger Connector Battery B A Charger Charger Connector Battery B A • Plug the charger connector into the battery A B . • Plug the charger into a standard wall outlet . Notes: -Use the charger only in a wall outlet. Do not plug the AC adaptor into a ceiling outlet. -If power flow to the wall outlet is controlled by a switch, make sure the switch is “ON”. -The power indicator on the charger does not indicate the charge status of your battery. The power indicator allows you to see that there is power from the wall outlet. • Before first-time use, charge the battery for at least 18 hours. Never charge the battery longer than 30 hours. • Recharge the battery for at least 14 hours after each use of your vehicle. Do not charge the battery longer than 30 hours. • Once the battery is charged, disconnect the charger connector from the battery. Unplug the charger from the wall outlet. The battery is now ready to be installed in your vehicle. Please see the Battery Installation section on page 20 for detailed instructions on installing your battery. If your battery is already installed in your vehicle, simply re-connect the motor harness connector to the battery. ASSEMBLY WARNING Children can be harmed by small parts, sharp edges and sharp points in the vehicle's unassembled state, or by electrical items. Care should be taken in unpacking and assembly of the vehicle. Children should not handle parts, including the battery, or help in assembly of the vehicle. Rear Axle 1 Motor SIDE VIEW • Slide the rear axle through the hole in the motor in the back end of the vehicle. Bushing9 • Remove the cap on the end of the front axle. Dispose of the cap in the trash. • Slide a bushing, ring end first, onto a front axle. 8 • Align the hole in the axle fastener cap with the hole in the front axle. Hint: You may need to push the front axle towards the front of the vehicle while you insert the screw. • Insert a #8 x ." screw into the large opening in the front axle fastener cap and tighten. • Repeat steps 7 and 8 to assemble the other front axle fastener cap. Front Wheel10 • Slide a front wheel, flat side first, onto the front axle. 10 P4266pr-0920 11 P4266pr-0920 wheel. Push to "snap" into place. • Repeat steps 9-14 to assemble the remaining bushing, front wheel, rim and front hubcap to the other front axle. 11 P4266pr-0920 wheel. Push to "snap" into place. • Repeat steps 9-14 to assemble the remaining bushing, front wheel, rim and front hubcap to the other front axle. Rim 11 13 • Test to be sure the wheel spins. Lift the front end of the vehicle up slightly and turn the wheel. It should spin freely. • If the wheel does not spin freely, use the assembly wrench to loosen the lock nut a 1/4" turn. Spin the wheel again and loosen more, if necessary. Front Hubcap 14 • Fit the tabs on the front hubcap into the slots in the front • Slide a rim, indented side out, onto the front axle. Wrench 12 • Fit a lock nut onto the end of the front axle and tighten with the assembly wrench. IMPORTANT! Fully tighten the lock nut with the included assembly wrench. Assembly Lock Nut 12 P4266pr-0920 • Insert a #8 x ." screw into the hole in the shock and tighten. Note:Do not insert a screw into the upper portion of the shock in this step. A screw will be assembled in this location in step 24. • Repeat steps 17 and 18 to assemble the other shock to the other side of the vehicle. 18 Screw DO NOT insert a screw here. 17 • Insert eight #8 x ." black screws into the tail and tighten. 16 • First, fit the bottom of a shock into the slot next to the tail. • Then, slide the top of the shock onto the post on the tail. Shock Post Slot SIDE VIEW • Fit the tail into the slots in the back end of the vehicle frame. 15 Tail FRONT VIEW 12 P4266pr-0920 • Insert a #8 x ." screw into the hole in the shock and tighten. Note:Do not insert a screw into the upper portion of the shock in this step.
