While in Pause mode, you can adjust the DVD playback position using PLAY, REW, FF, PAUSE/STEP, etc. The VCR deck will remain in Pause mode. To resume copying, press the COPY button twice. 8 88 Stop the Copy Process To stop copying at any other time, press STOP (x). You must stop the Copy process manually when the DVD movie ends, or the unit may replay and record over and over again. One Touch Copy - VHS to DVD You can copy the contents of a VHS tape to a recordable DVD using the COPY button. This allows you to archive your old VHS tapes to DVD. ote If the VHS videotape you are attempting to copy is copy-protected, you will not be able to copy the tape. It is not permitted to copy Macrovision encoded tapes. 1 11 Insert a recordable disc. Insert a blank DVD-R/RW disc in the DVD deck and close the disc tray. ote When using a DVD-RW disc, you must initialize the disc in VR or Video mode; see page 25. 2 22 Insert a VHS Tape Insert the VHS videotape you wish to copy into the VCR deck. 3 33 Select VCR mode by pressing VCR on the remote control or pressing DVD/VCR on the front panel. 4 44 Find the place on the VHS tape from which you want to start recording using the PLAY, FF, REW and PAUSE functions. For best results, pause playback at the point from which you want to record. 5 55 Press the COPY button on the remote control or front panel. The Copy to DVD menu appears. Copy Free Space Rec. RECORDING 43 Timer Recording Timer Recording The Timer Recording function allows you to record up to 8 programs within a period of one month. 1 11 Press TIMER RECORD. The Timer Record menu appears. DVD: XP, SP, LP, EP, or AT (Auto) VCR: SP, SLP, AT (Auto) AUTO mode determines how much time is available on the disc or tape and switches the Record mode, if necessary, to complete recording the program. 2 22 Enter the necessary information for your Timer Recording(s). • b / B (left/right) – Moves the cursor left/right • v / V (up/down) – Changes the setting at the current cursor position • Press RETURN to exit the Timer Record menu. • Press ENTER after filling in all the program information. • Press TIMER RECORD to display the Timer Record List. 3 33 Press ENTER to save the program. The Timer Record List will appear. 5 55 4 44 Press RETURN (O) to exit the Timer Record List. Be sure to load a recordable disc or tape. ote • The Timer indicator lights on the front panel display. • If the Disc and Tape indicator are blinking, either no disc or tape is loaded, or the loaded disc is not recordable. • The DVD Recorder+VCR will record the audio according to the current TV tuner setting (Stereo, Mono or SAP). Use the AUDIO button to set the audio before switching the DVD Recorder+VCR to Standby mode. •You must press STOP to stop the Timer Recording. • The DVD Recorder+VCR will automatically power off when the Timer Recording ends. • There is a short delay when a timer recording finishes to confirm the recorded program. If two timer recordings are set to record sequentially (one right after the other), the very beginning of the later program may not be recorded. Checking Timer Recording Details Press TIMER RECORD twice to check your Timer Recording settings. • Use v / V to select a program. • Press ENTER to edit the selected program.
