How To Install The Batteries 1. On the bottom of the portable chime you will find a round battery release tab. Push the tab inward and slide the cover in the direction of the arrow. Locate the two door chime wires emanating from the existing door chime circuit. Test the door chime by touching the two wires together, completing the circuit.
