Safeguard them for future reference. • Only connect it to the voltage stated on the characteristics plate. • For added safety it is advisable for the electric socket in the bathroom to be fitted with a residual current device rated at 30mA or less. • The On/Off switch must be in the “0” position when pluggging it in or unplugging it. • WARNING: Do not use the appliance close to water conttained in baths, basins and the like. • NEVER IMMERSE THE APPLIANCE IN WATER OR ANY OTHER LIQUID. When the dryer is used in a bathroom always unplug it aftter use even if it is switched off, as water presents a serious hazard. • Do not handle the appliance if your hands or feet are wet, or if you are barefoot. • Never use hair lacquer or spray products while the appliaance is still operating. • Do not operate the appliance with the cable still coiled. • Do not allow the dryer to hang by its electrical cable. • Do not leave the hairdryer operating unattended, especially near children or the disabled. • This appliance must not be used by persons (including children) with physical, sensory or mental impairments unless they have been instructed in its correct use by a responsible adult. • Children must be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance. • Make sure that the air inlets and/or outlets never become partially or fully covered while the appliance is operating. • Never unplug it by tugging on the mains cable. • Before cleaning it, make sure that the appliance is unplugged and cold. • Do not switch the appliance on if the cable or plug are damaged or if you suspect that the appliance is not working correctly • The cable must not be replaced by the user. Cable repairs and replacements must be carried out exclusively by an Authorised Technical Service Centre. ANTI-OVERHEATING SAFETY DEVICE The hairdryer is equipped with an automatic cut-out device that disconnects it if the air intake becomes accidentally blocked. Remove the cause of the blockage and the appliaance will be ready to use again after a short while. USE (Mod. SC8368). Select the temperature by means of the switch (Fig 1) (Mod. SC8369). The desired temperature (Fig 1) and speed (Fig 2) can be selected by using the two switches. Maximum temperature and speed settings are only recommmended at the beginning, when your hair is still quite wet, gradually reducing the heat as the hair gets drier. A practical hanging ring allows the appliance to be hung on the wall. COLD AIR The COLD AIR position reduces the temperature significantly and offers rapid cooling after setting curls or waves. This dryer has two cold air settings. In the < • > position the cold air function stays on permmanently. With the position cold air is only prodduced when you press the button. (Fig. 3) Warning: Whenever you wish to use hot air make sure that the cold air switch is in the position. IONIZATION (SC8369) This hairdryer is equipped with a negative ion generator. The action of the negative ions reduces the size of the water droplets to make drying easier and allowing the hair to abssorb much more water. This produces softer, shiner, hydrated hair that is much easier to comb. (Fig. 4) In the <•> position the ionizer function stays on permanently. In the position ionization only occurs while the buttton is being pressed. (Fig. 5) Whenever the ionizer function is active the indicator light (6) will stay lit. (Fig. 5) ACCESSORIES AIR CONCENTRATOR As accessories for optional use, the dryer has a direction air nozzle that allows the air flow to be directed over a specific area. This allows the hair to dry faster with a stronger jet of air. DIFFUSER VOLUMISER The diffuser is used to give volume to curled hair, without damaging the hair because it allows it to dry gently from the root up. There is a wide variety of foams and setting products availaable on the market to help straighten hair and to keep the dishevelled look. CLEANING & MAINTENANCE Make sure that the appliance is unplugged before attempting to clean it. It needs no special cleaning, just wipe it down with a damp cloth from time to time. (Mod. SC8369). Clean the protective filter periodically with the help of a brush to remove any dirt or trapped hair. Turn the filter anticlockwise to remove it (Fig. 6) ADVICE ON DISPOSAL: Our goods come in optimised packaging. This basiccally consists in using non-contaminating materials which should be handed over to the local waste disposal service as secondary raw materials. This product complies with EU Directive 2002/96/ CE. The crossed wheelie bin symbol shown on the appliance indicates that when it comes to dispose of the product it must not be included in with household refuse. It must be taken to a special refusse collection point for electric and electronic appliances...
