If a fault should occur the machine can start unintentionally. - Always pull out the plug from the wall socket when cleaning the machine. - Warning for heat and hot surface. - The machine must not be built-in or covered. Risk for overheating and fire. - Make sure that the machine stands firmly on a stable surface. - Make sure that defective parts are repaired, and that the machine’s operating reliability is maintained, before it is used. - Use only original spare parts. - The rating label is fixed/imprinted on the unit. General: This coffee machine must only be connected to 230V/50 Hz. Before you use the coffee maker for the first time . . . Wash the glass pot and filter holder. Rinse and dry. Place the glass pot on the coffee makers 10 hot plate. Insert the filter holder. Fill the coffee maker with cold water, press the start button on the front of the machine, and allow the water to flow through the coffee maker. The coffee maker is now ready for use. Brewing: 1. Lift the lid and fill the water container according to the number of coffee cups desired (minimum 2 cups). There is an indicator on the side of the coffee maker that indicates the water level. NB. Never pour water into a hot coffee maker. Wait approximately 10 minutes before brewing the next pot of coffee. 2. Open the lid of the coffee maker. Insert a filter (size 1x4) into the filter holder and place the desired amount of coffee into the filter (approximately one measure per cup). Close the lid. The filter holder is equipped with a function that prevents dripping from the filter holder when the pot is lifted from the hot plate. To start brewing, press the button on the front of the coffee maker. 3. The coffee maker is equipped with a hot plate that heats up automatically when you switch the coffee maker on. This keeps the coffee hot as long as the coffee maker is plugged in.The switch has a built-in light that illuminates when the coffee maker is on. DECALCIFYING - Mineral deposits can clog your coffee maker. To keep your coffee maker operating efficiently, you must regularly clean out mineral deposits left by the water; they can build up and clog your coffee maker. At least once a month, use the household cleaning solution descibed below, to prevent this clogging. - You should clean your coffee maker every 2 weeks if the water in your area is especially hard. Frequent cleaning may improve coffee flavor brewing time. Household cleaning solution. - Pour 1 quart of white vinegar into the carafe. Then, add cold water to the vinegar until it reaches the 10/12 cup fill line on the carafe. Pour water and vinegar into the water tank. - Place carafe on the hotplate. Switch the coffee maker on. - Let half of the mixture run through the coffee maker. Turn off the coffee maker for approx. 10 minutes. - Turn on the coffee maker again and let the rest of the mixture run through the coffe maker. - Let the coffee maker cool 10 minutes, then rinse the coffee maker by filling the carafe with cold wate...
