The machine allows you to adjust the amount of hot milk according to your taste and the size of your cups. 1 Fill the milk carafe with milk and install it into the machine. 2 Place a cup under the dispensing spout. 3 Press the “ ” button. The following icon is displayed. 4 Press and hold the “ ” button to select hot milk until the ‘MEMO’ icon appears on the display. Then release the button. The machine is now in programming. Green 32 ENGLISH HOT WATER DISPENSING Warning: Danger of scalding! Dispensing may be preceded by short sprays of hot water and steam. Risk of burning. Wait until the end of the cycle before removing the water dispenser. 1 Slightly tilt the water dispenser and then insert it all the way in into the guides in the machine. Green Yellow 5 The following icon is displayed during pre-heating time required by the machine. 6 When the desired amount of hot milk is reached, press the “ ” button. Now the hot milk is programmed. Every time it is pressed, the machine will brew the same amount of hot milk that was programmed. 2 Push the water dispenser towards the bottom while rotating at the same time, until it is locked in the machine as shown in the fi gure. ENGLISH 33 3 Place a container under the hot water dispenser. Green 4 Press the “ ” button. The following icon is displayed. 5 Press the “ ” button to start dispensing process. 6 This icon is displayed. The machine reminds you to install the water dispenser. Check that it is correctly installed. Press “ ” to confi rm. The machine will start dispensing hot water. Yellow Green 7 The following icon is displayed during pre-heating time required by the machine. 34 ENGLISH Green 8 Pour the desired amount of hot water. To stop the hot water dispensing process press the “ ” button. CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE Daily cleaning of the machine Caution: Timely cleaning and maintenance of your machine is very important as it prolongs the life of your machine. Your machine gets exposed to moist, coff ee and lime scale continuously! In this chapter it is described in detail which activities you need to perform at which frequency. Not doing this will ultimately make your machine stop working properly. This repair is NOT covered by your warranty! Note: - Use a soft, dampened cloth to clean the machine. - Do not wash any of its parts in the dishwasher. - Do not immerse the machine in water. - Do not use alcohol, solvents, and/or abrasive objects to clean the machine. - Do not dry the machine and/or its components using a microwave and/or standard oven. 1 Empty and clean the coff ee grounds drawer daily with the machine turned on. Other maintenance operations can only be carried out when the machine is turned off and unplugged. ENGLISH 35 2 Empty and clean the coff ee residues drawer located inside of the machine. Open the service door, remove the drawer and empty the coff ee residues. 3 Empty and clean the drip tray: - Press the side buttons to allow tray removal - Remove the drip tray Note: Perform this operation also when the full drip tray indicator is raised. 36 ENGLISH Daily cleaning of the water tank 1 Remove the small white fi lter or the INTENZA+ water fi lter (if installed) from the water tank and wash it with fresh water. 2 Put the small white fi lter back or the INTENZA+ water fi lter (if installed) in its housing by gently pressing and turning it at the same time. 3 Fill the water tank with fresh water. Daily cleaning of the milk carafe It is important that you clean the milk carafe daily or after each use as it preserves hygiene and ensures perfect milk froth consistency 1 Press the release buttons to remove the lid. 2 Turn the milk dispensing spout up to the ( ) reference mark. 3 Lift the milk carafe dispenser to remove it from the lid. 4 Wash it with fresh water. 5 Put the milk carafe dispenser back into the carafe lid. 1 1 2 1 2 ENGLISH 37 Weekly cleaning of the milk carafe The weekly cleaning is more thorough as it removes any milk residues from the milk carafe dispenser. 1 Press the release buttons to remove the lid. Weekly cleaning of the machine 1 Clean the seat of the drip tray. 2 Clean the pre-ground coff ee compartment with the cleaning brush. 2 Rinse the lid and the milk carafe with fresh water. Remove all milk residues. 1 1 2 38 ENGLISH 4 Remove the top and fi ll the milk carafe up to the MAX level with fresh water. 5 Put the top back into the milk carafe. Green 6 Open the milk carafe dispenser and insert the carafe into the machine. 7 Place a container under the dispensing spout. 8 Press the “ ” button. The following icon is displayed. Press the “ ” button to select hot milk. 3 Attach the lid on the milk carafe; ensure it is locked into place. ENGLISH 39 Green Yellow 9 The following icon is displayed during pre-heating time required by the machine. 10 Once the machine stops dispensing water, the cleaning is fi nished.
