Ships with HP SUM 5.0.1, which allows cross-platform installation and simultaneous installations
of remote hosts. The HP SUM 5.0.1 Release Notes are available on the HP SUM Information

Automatic mode. By default, automatic mode runs the firmware update without any user interaction
if the firmware update sits unattended for 30 seconds on the menu screen, and a Smart Update
Firmware DVD or USB Key is inserted into the server.

Added support for the new ProLiant Gen8 servers. For the complete list of supported servers, see
the FW Server Support Guide on the DVD.
Prerequisites
•
The HP Smart Update Firmware DVD requires a minimum of 1 GB of system memory to run.
•
Virtual operating systems are only supported in offline mode, and not in the virtual environment.
•
Booting the Smart Update Firmware DVD from iLO virtual media is only supported in Automatic
Firmware Update mode. Users attempting this in any other mode may experience hangs from
connection time-outs, difficulties updating iLO firmware, and mouse synchronization issues.
•
Knowledge of PXE and TFTP.
