Installing the HP Server tc4100
Internal-to-external SCSI Cable Kit
The HP Server tc4100 can be configured to extend one of its SCSI channels to an external SCSI connector. This
allows connection of additional external mass storage devices to the system’s embedded SCSI controller. An internal-
to-external SCSI cable is required in order to connect the HP Server to the external SCSI device.
NOTE
This cable can be connected only to the embedded SCSI channel A.
1.
Remove the two screws from the filler panel in the slot at the rear of the system chassis closest to the
processor and one slot over from the slot labeled number 1. Set the screws aside for later use.
2.
Connect the SCSI cable to SCSI connector “A” on the system board (see the illustration below).

Route the cable between the processor and the first PCI slot.
4.
Insert the cable bracket into the empty rear slot where the filler panel was removed.
5.
Use the two screws set aside earlier to secure the bracket in place.
