• Check if you press the Power button on the remote control after you have set the time. • Check if the appliance is running in a smoky area or if there is a smell entering from outside. Operate the air conditioner in Fan mode or open the windows to air out the room. • A bubbling sound may be heard when the refrigerant is circulating through the compressor. Let the air conditioner operate in a selected mode. • When you press the Power button on the remote control, noise may be heard from the drain pump inside the air conditioner. • Check if the air conditioner has been cooling for an extended period of time with the air flow blades pointed downwards. Condensation may generate due to the difference in temperature. • Check if your batteries are depleted. • Make sure batteries are correctly installed. • Make sure nothing is blocking your remote control sensor. • Check that there are strong lighting apparatus near the air conditioner. Strong light which comes from fluorescent bulbs or neon signs may interrupt the electric waves. • Check if you set the wired remote control for group control. • Check if TEST indicator is displayed on the wired remote control. If so, turn off the unit and switch off the circuit breaker. Call your nearest contact center. • Press the Power button on the remote control to turn the unit off and switch the circuit breaker off. Then, switch it on again. ENGLISH appendix _17 appendix OPERATION RANGES The table below indicates the temperature and humidity ranges the air conditioner can be operated within. Refer to the table for efficient use. If the outdoor temperature drops to 0.C or below, the heating capacity can be reduced depending on the temperature condition. If the cooling operation is used at over 30.C (indoor temperature), it does not cool at its full capacity. 18_ appendix INSTALLATION AND MAINTENANCE Air conditioners are technically complex products that require regular maintenance. Failure to heed to these requirements and Operation Recommendations could result in reduction of product life span as well as breakdowns of expensive parts. INSTALLATION* • when choosing installation site, please remember that unit should be easy accessible for service. Service will not be available for the outdoor unit where our servicemen can not access and the cost of moving the outdoor unit to the service area will be borne by the customer. It is recommended to perform installation works by organizations with certified state licenses and Samsung certificate. Contacts for certified organizations you can receive in “Samsung Contact Center” by phones, mentioned in Warranty card 8-800-555-55-55. There should be a stamp of Installation Company in warranty card after installation. MAINTENANCE* Service works means elimination of defects, caused by Manufacturer. Service works are performed by authorized Samsung service centers; you can find contacts at “Customer Contact Center” by phones, mentioned in warranty card 8-800-555-55-55. Preventive maintenance means periodically carried out cleaning, testing, tuning of Aircon, that neces- sary for its normal work. It is recommended to execute Preventive maintenance by organization with certified state licenses and Samsung certificate. Recommendations for Preventive maintenance: • At least once a year engage a certified specialist to carry out maintenance works,preferably during dry and warm periods. Maintenance works shall include: • Cleaning heat exchanger of indoor and outdoor unit • Cleaning drainage system • Checking the pressure level (refrigerant quantity) • Checking the operation modes of the system • Top-up of refrigerant, if necessary (usually once per 2 years) • Also, please refer to page “Cleaning your Air conditioner”. Manufacturer provides warranty and free of charge service during 12 months, if installation or service works was performed by organization, not being certified Samsung Installer or Service Center. Every installation and preventive maintenance works shall be paid for by the air conditioner owner, since the product warranty does not cover any of these works.
