Conserving power The unit consumes 1.0W even when it is turned off with [TAPE/OFF DOZE]. To save power when the unit is not to be used for a long time, unplug it from the household AC outlet. Remember to reset the radio stations and any other memory items before using the unit again if you haven’t inserted memory batteries. Using batteries (not included) The unit cannot be powered by batteries if the AC power supply cord is connected. The remote control cannot turn the unit on when batteries are used. Battery installation Place unit on a soft cloth when installing and removing batteries to avoid damaging the front panel. B Inserting the batteries. © Slide and press in the direction of the arrow to open the battery cover on the bottom of the unit. These batteries do not power the unit. Replacing the batteries The memory batteries last about one year. Connect the unit to AC power before replacing the batteries. Extend the life of the memory batteries by always pressing [TAP E/OFF DOZE] to turn the unit off before disconnecting the unit from the AC power source or replacing the power batteries. Removing the batteries Lift the positive end of the number 4 battery to remove batteries.
