Do not use any type of cleaning agent or solvent. • When not in use, store them in their original protective cases. LOADING A DISC 1. Slide the FUNCTION switch (16) to the CD position. 2. Open the CD DOOR (20). 3. Insert a disc with the label side facing upward (if the disc is upside down, the DISPLAY will show 2 zeros). 4. Close the CD DOOR (20) by hand. 5. This DISPLAY will show 2 dashes flashing and then the total number of tracks on the disc. 6. To start playing, press the CD PLAY/PAUSE ( ► II) button (9). Track number 1 will be shown in the display and after a few seconds the track will begin to play. 7. Adjust the VOLUME CONTROL (18) to the desired volume level. 8. To stop playing, press CD STOP (■ ) button (3). To shut power off, slide the FUNCTION switch (16) to the TAPE position. Note: Never touch the laser lens inside the CD compartment. If it ever gets dirty, clean it with a CD cleaner disc. REMOVING A DISC 1. Make sure the CD is not playing. If it is, press the CD STOP (■) Button (3). 2. Open the CD Door (20). 3. Gently remove the disc. 4. Close the CD Door (20) by hand. 5. Store the disc in its protective storage box. PLAYING A COMPACT DISC NORMAL PLAY 1. Set the FUNCTION switch (16) to the CD position, if a disc is already loaded into the CD compartment, after approximately 5 seconds the total number of tracks will be shown in the display. 2. To start playing, press the CD PLAY/PAUSE ( ► II) button (9) (PLAY/PROGRAM indicator (8) will light). Track number 1 will be shown in the display and after a few seconds the track will begin to play. 3. Adjust the VOLUME control (18) to the desired volume level. 4. To stop the disc temporarily, press the CD PLAY/PAUSE ( ► II) button (9), the current track number will flash. To resume play press the CD PLAY/PAUSE ( ► II) button (9) again, the track number will stop flashing and play will commence. 5. To stop the disc, press the CD STOP (■) button (3), and PLAY/PROGRAM indicator (8) will go off. 6. To turn off the CD, slide the FUNCTION switch (16) to TAPE or RADIO position. Note: • Never press the CD Door (20) down during play, this may cause malfunction or damage the disc. Always stop the CD player by using the CD STOP (■) button (3) before you take the disc out of the compart ment. • If you hit or move the unit during play, the music will stop for a second or two and then start again. This is the normal operation for portable CD players. SKIPPING TRACKS (SKIP) 1. This function enables you to find the beginning of any desired track during playback. If the CD FORWARD SKIP ( mi ) button (10) is pressed once or repeatedly, the NEXT TRACK or one of the following tracks will be selected. The Display will show the track or song number. 2. If the CD BACK SKIP (m) button (11) is pressed twice or more in rapid succession, play will go BACK one track per press (In PLAY mode, pressing the button once will go back to the beginning of the track being played). 3. When the set is in the PAUSE mode, it is also possible to select the beginning of a certain track by using the CD FORWARD SKIP (mi) button (10) and CD BACK SKIP (m) button (11) to reach the desired track. Press and hold the CD FORWARD SKIP (mi) button (10) to search forward at a high speed for a particular point. Press and hold the CD BACK SKIP (m) button (11) to search backward. Release the button to resume normal play when the point is found. REPEAT PLAY- SINGLE TRACK To repeat the SAME track over and over again, do the following: 1. When the CD is stopped, press the PLAY/PAUSE ( ► II ) button (9). 2. Press the SKIP/SEARCFI (m/>N) button (10) or (11) to select the track you like. 3. Press the REPEAT button (4) once. The REPEAT indicator (12) will be flashing. The track you selected will play over and over until you press the STOP (■ ) button (3) twice to end the repeat function. REPEAT PLAY- ALL TRACKS To repeat play ALL TRACKS on a disc over and over gain, do the following. 1. When the CD is stopped, press the PLAY/PAUSE ( ► II ) button (9). 2. Press the REPEAT button (4) twice, and the REPEAT indicator (12) will be flashing. All the tracks on the CD will play in order and then start all over again. 3. To end...
