(See voltage marking on unit.) Never remove or cut the ground pin of the line cord plug. This unit is supplied with a properly rated line cord. When lost or damaged, replace this cord with one of the proper ratings. POWER SWITCH Placing this switch in the “ON” position applies power to the unit when proper power is supplied to the AC Power Cord. 3. EXTERNAL SPEAKER JACK This 1/4" jack is provided for the connection of an external speaker cabinet. The minimum external speaker impedance is 8 ohms. © Г -© 1 Г©1 © @© (y ô E3¿\S!CZ //^ BASS AMPLIFICATION ■ ECJLJALiZA TÊtUN ' ©© © 4. POWER LED This LED illuminates to indicate power has been applied to the unit and the unit is on. 5. INPUT This 1/4" mono jack is the input for your bass guitar. Always use a high quality, shielded instrument cable when connecting your bass guitar to the input jack. 6. INPUT SELECT SWITCH (Active/Passive) This switch, when placed in the “IN” position, adds a 10 dB pad to the input stage of your Basic 112. When using active pickups place this switch in the “IN” or active position to avoid overdriving the input stage. When using standard or passive pickups, leave this switch in the “OUT” or passive position. 7. PRE GAIN The Pre Gain control sets the input level to the amplifier. Adjusting this control fully clockwise will result in maximum gain. This setting may change from instrument to instrument due to the various electrical characteristics found in bass guitars. 8. BRIGHT SWITCH Pressing this switch to the “IN” position will boost or increase the high frequency content of your bass guitar tone. Though this effect does produce sharper, more crisp tones, it does make string noise more apparent. 9. EQUALIZATION The EQ featured on the Basic 112 offers four-band tone adjustment. Each EQ control is active and has a predetermined center frequency. At the “5” position (12 o’clock) the control, effectively, does not alter your tone. Reducing the control to the “0” position (fully counterclockwise) introduces maximum cut in level for the particular band. Increasing the control to the “+10” position (fully clockwise) introduces maximum gain in level for the particular band low, low-mid, high-mid and high bands are available for adjustment. Observe the Basic 112 Specifications for more detail on the equalizer. 10. EFFECTS LOOP This pair of mono 1/4" jacks supply an effects SEND and RETURN path for the preamp signal. Connect the SEND jack to the input of external, low-level, signal processing equipment (effects). Return the signal from your external equipment to the RETURN jack. This is known as an Effects Loop since the signal exits your amp (send) and loops (return) back to it. 11. VOLUME The Volume control adjusts the overall volume level of the amplifier. Adjusting this control so that its level is greater than the pregain setting will result in less overall distortion. 12. HEADPHONES This stereo 1/4" jack accepts a standard pair of headphones. Using this jack defeats the output to the speaker making it ideal for quiet practice applications. Use only stereo headphones.
