With the Low Gain Input, you can decrease 10dB of input gain from the High Gain Input. CHANNEL INDICATOR 2 LED indicators show the channel that is selected. * Although the LEDs do not go out immediately after turning off the power switch, it is not a machine failure. OVERDRIVE CHANNEL With the Pull-0verdrive switch which is built in to the Volume 1 control (or optional footswitch), you can switch from the Normal channel to the Overdrive channel instantly. Volume 1 and Volume 2 regulates overdrive harmonics and fat sustain and Master Volume allows control of amplifier loudness in the Overdrive mode. NORMAL CHANNEL Use the Volume control of the Normal channel for basic rhythm warmth and loudness. The Pull-Bright switch which is incorporated in this Volume control is used to make the Normal (rhythm) sound brighter and only affects playing in the Normal mode, TONE CONTROLS Tone control circuitry on the CUBE-100 consists of Treble, Middle and Bass controls. And also the Pul I-Bright switch of the Normal channel offers brilliance to the Normal sounds when it is used. REVERB Reverb control is used to control the depth of reverbration. This reverb system utilizes a special 3 spring reverb unit which is carefully mounted to reduce hum, buzz and unwanted feedback. The sound is authentic and smooth with no "springness" to mar the depth. PILOT LAMP The Pilot lamp lights when the power switch is turned on, showing that the unit is ready for operation. REAR PANEL PRE-OUT JACK EXTERNALSPEAKER JACK HEADPHONE JACK FOOTSWITCH JACK Г OVERDRIVE REVERB MAIN-IN JACK POWER SWITCH OVERDRIVE FOOTSWITCH JACK Connect an optional footswitch (such as Roland FS-1, FS-2) and pull the Overdrive switch which is built in Volume 1 for remote switching Overdrive mode or Normal mode. The Overdrive channel (Volume 1, Volume 2 and Master-volume) produces the controlled distortion and sustain for lead playing and yet you can always footswitch back to the Normal mode, warm and clean sounds for chords. REVERB FOOTSWITCH JACK An optional footswitch (such as Roland FS-1, FS-2) is plugged in this jack for remote switching the reverb effect on and off. PRE-OUT JACK The Pre-Out jack is an output which captures the entire sound of the pre-amp and can be matched to a power amp (such as Roland SPA-240), mixing board or into another CUBE for a linked-up arrangement. MAIN-IN JACK The Main-ln jack is the input point to the power amp stage. Connecting an effect device in between the Pre-Out Jack and the Main-ln jack offers a low-noise internal connection without overloading of the effect devices used. FUSE HOLDER HEADPHONE JACK Stereo headphones (such as Roland RH-10) may be plugged into this jack for private listening. The speaker does not work when this jack is connected. EXTERNAL SPEAKER JACK An external speaker system (8 ohm minimum) can be connected. POWER SWITCH Set all volumes at "0" before turning on the Power switch. OPERATION 1 NORMAL SOUND Set the Pul I-Overdrive switch incorporated Volume 1 at the Normal mode position. Volume 1, Volume 2 and Master Volume do not work in this mode. For a high output guitar or other instruments, the Low gain input can be used to make sounds cleaner without any unwanted distortion. © © о о о 0 oooo HARD DISTORTION SOUND Set Volume 1 and Master Volume as shown below in the Overdrive mode, and use Volume 2 to control amplifier loudness. Not only gain but overdrive harmonics can be controlled by Volume 1. |O0Q О oooo OPTIONS • Use Roland FS-1 Single Footswitch or Roland FS-2 Dual Footswitch for remote switching to the Overdrive and Reverb effect. • By using a Roland FV-2 Foot Volume connected in between the Pre-Out and the Main-ln it is possible to regulate the loudness without affecting the overdrive distortion and tonality in either mode. 2 OVERDRIVE SOUND Pull the Overdrive switch built in to Volume 1 to switch into the Overdrive mode, and set Volume 1 and Volume 2 as shown below to obtain the hottest sustain sound. Use Master Volume to control the amplifier loudness. |qo© о oooo SOFT DISTORTION SOUND Set Volume 2 and Master Volume as shown below in the Overdrive mode, and use Volume 1 to control of amplifier loudness. © © (© © © о oooo CAUTIONS • Locating neon or fluorescent lamp near to the amplifier and instruments may cause to have noise interference. In such a case, get them relocated out of interference ...
