Facilité d'utilisation

In spite of its compact body, it features an extremely wide dynamic range, therefore allowing rich, dynamic distortion sounds. Also, the HM-2 can be effectively used even with a single pickup guitar of low output level, because of its high gain. Wide variety of tone color creation is made possible with two Color Mix Controls. NAME AND FUNCTIONS AC ADAPTOR JACK* COLOR MIX L* LEVEL*- OUTPUT JACK * INDICATOR * COLOR MIX H « DISTORTION • INPUT JACK PEDAL SWITCH* Heavy metal Hm-2 ■* THUMB SCREW AC ADAPTOR JACK This is to connect an AC Adaptor. COLOR MIX L This can boost or cut low frequency around 100 Hz. Rotaing this knob clockwise ( ("V ) will boost it and counterclockwise ( O ) cut it. In its center position, there is no effect on sounds. LEVEL KNOB This is to adjust the volume difference between the direct and effect sounds. Rotating this knob clockwise (O-) increases the volume of the effect sounds. OUTPUT JACK This is to connect to an amplifier. PEDAL SWITCH By using a Pedal Switch, you can turn the effect on or off. * The FET Switching system amazingly reduces the click noise, so that studio recording will now be even more successful. INDICATOR This serves as an effect ON/OFF indicator as well as Battery check. This lights up when the Pedal is pressed once, showing that the HM-2 is in the effect mode. It goes out when the Pedal is pressed once more, showing the normal mode. * If the indicator becomes dimmer or does not light at all, battery replacement is required. COLOR MIX H This knob is used to boost or cut high frequency around 1 kHz. Rotating this knob clockwise ( rv ) boosts and counterclockwise ( ■O ) cut it. DISTORTION This knob is to control the depth of the distortion together with the sustain time. As you rotate the knob colckwise ( f> ), the distortion becomes deeper and the sustain time longer. INPUT JACK This is to connect an electric guitar, and other electronic musical insrument. * Plugging the cord into this Input Jack turns the power to the HM-2 on. So please disconnect the cord when the HM-2 is not to be used. THUMB SCREW * Loosen this thumb screw to open the pedal cover for battery replacement. * Do not remove the loosen screw from the pedal cover. BEFORE USING HM-2 • When operating the HM-2 from the AC line, use the BOSS AC Adaptor. •Avoid using the HM-2 in extreme heat, humidity or where it may be affected by dust. CONNECTING HM-2 AMPLIFIER TO BATTERY ELIMINATOR JACK BOSS HM-2 Power is switched on while a plug is put into input jack. BOSS AC ADAPTOR GUITAR ^Unplug this unit when it is not to be used. Be sure to take off connecting plug from Input jack^ OPERATING HM-2 1. After making all the connections, set the panel as shown left. 2. Press the Pedal Switch. If the indicator lights up, the effect is on, and if not, off. *This indicator also serves as battery check. If it becomes dimmer or does not light at all, battery replacement is required. CHECK o 1 kHz, and counterclockwise ( -O ) will cut it. In its center position, there is no effect. Likewise, COLOR MIX L serves to boost or cut the lower frequency characteristic around 100 Hz. 4. Adjust the depth of the distortion by using the Distortion Control. 3. With the COLOR MIX H and L Controls, make the tone color you prefer. Rotating the COLOR MIX H clockwise ( ^ •) will boost the high frequency characteristic around 5. To reduce the volume difference which is to be noticed in changing the modes from normal to effect, adjust the volume of effect sound by using the LEVEL Control knob. CAUTIONS FOR REPLACING AND HANDLING BATTERY PEDAL (COVER) 9V BATTERY BATTERY CONNECTOR THUMB SCREW SPRING BASE COIL SPRING - PEDAL GUIDE BATTERY HOUSING BATTERY STRAP REPLACING BATTERY USE ONE 9-VOLT BATTERY Loosen the screw of pedal to open it and take out battery from its housing. Replace the battery with a new one. Set coil spring onto the spring base on the back of the pedal and shut the cover (pedal). Finally, insert thescrew into the pedal guide and tighten it. At this time, be careful not to catch the battery strap in the cover or coil spring. CAUTIONS • When the HM-2 is not in use for a long period, remove the battery to prevent the trouble caused by the battery leakage. • If the battery voltage drops, effect becomes inferior or no sound is produced. To prevent that, replace the battery. AC ADAPTOR (OPTION) BOSS ACA-120 BOSS ACA-240 FOR 117V AC FOR 240V AC • Be sure to keep the battery securely connected even while using the AC Adaptor, then the HM-2 will continued to operate even if the AC Adaptor cord comes out during performance. • Unplug the cord from the INPUT jack when the HM-2 is not in use to avoid wasting the battery.
