The wire which is coloured BROWN must be connected to the terminal which is marked with the letter L or coloured RED. The product which is equipped with a THREE WIRE GROUNDING TYPE LINE PLUG must be grounded. 2 Thank you for purchasing the Roland SRA-50 Stereo Power Amplifier. To make the best use of this unit, please read the owner's manual carefully. FEATURES • The SRA-50 is a 50W+50W (at 4 ohms) stereo amplifier housed in a half-rack case. • The unit features excellent durability, silent operation. • Two types of jacks are provided for input; 1/4" phone and pin type. • With the inclusion of a MIC Input Jack, the SRA-50 can be used as a microphone amplifier. • The Line Output Jacks makes it easy to connect other powered monitor speakers or power amplifiers. • A stereo headphone Jack allows for private monitoring. • A large heat sink allows for the natural dispersion of heat. IMPORTANT NOTES In addition to the items listed under Safety Precautions inside the front cover, please read and observe the following: Power Supply • Before connecting this unit to other devices, turn off the power to all units; this will help prevent damage or malfunction. • Do not use this unit on the same power circuit with any device that will generate line noise; an electric motor or variable lighting system for example. Placement • Using the unit near power amplifiers (or other equipment containing large power transformers) may induce hum. • This device may interfere with radio and television reception. Do not use this device in the vicinity of such receivers. Maintenance • For everyday cleaning wipe the unit with a soft, dry cloth or one that has been slightly dampened with water. To remove stubborn dirt, use a mild, non-abrasive detergent. Afterwards, be sure to wipe the unit thoroughly with a soft, dry cloth. • Never use benzene, thinners, alcohol or solvents of any kind, to avoid the possibility of discoloration and/or deformation. (16)(15) (14) (13) (12) (1) MIC Input Jack Connect a microphone to this jack. (2) MIC Level Control Knob This knob adjusts the volume of a microphone connected to the MIC Input Jack (1). Clockwise rotation increases the volume. * When the knob is rotated completely counterclockwise, no sound will be heard. (3) LINE 1 Level Control Knob This knob adjusts the volume of the device connected to the LINE IN 1 Jacks (12). Clockwise rotation increases the volume. * When the knob is rotated completely counterclockwise, no sound will be heard. (4) OVERLOAD Indicator When the volume of the device connected to the LINE IN 1 Jacks (12) is too high, this indicator will light. If this happens, rotate the LINE 1 Level Control knob counterclockwise to lower the input signal. (5) LINE 2 Level Control Knob This knob adjusts the volume of the device connected to the LINE IN 2 Jacks (13). Clockwise rotation increases the volume. * When the knob is rotated completely counterclockwise, no sound will be heard. (6) OVERLOAD Indicator When the volume of the dev ice connected to the LINE IN 2 Jacks (13) is too high, this indicator will light. If this happens, rotate the LINE 2 Level Control knob counterclockwise to lower the input signal. (7) BASS Control Knob This knob controls the tone of bass sounds. Rotating the knob clokwise boosts the lower frequensies, while rotating counterclokwise cuts the lower frequencies. When the knob is set to the center position, a flat characteristic is created. (8) TREBLE Control Knob This knob controls the tone of treble sounds. Rotating the knob clokwise boosts the higher frequensies, while rotating counterclokwise cuts the higher frequencies. When the knob is set to the center position, a flat characteristic is created. (9) PHONES Jack Connect headphones to this jack. This is a 1/4" phone jack. * When headphones are connected to this jack, no sound will be heard from the connected speaker system. (10) POWER Switch This switch turns the unit on and off. (11) POWER Indicator This indicator lights when the unit is switched on. (12) LINE IN 1 Jacks L (MONO)/R Connect an electronic musical instrument (such as a keyboard, rhythm machine or sound module) to these jacks. These jacks...
