If possible, firmly attach each TLC-2 to a desk, table, bench, or to the instrument itself. This will help reduce the possibility of damage to the cables connected to the unit. • To use ep series pianos ( ep-3, ep-5, ep-7): Remove the two screws on the rear of the piano. Attach the TLC-2 using the same screws. «ep-3, ep-5» «ep-7» Remove these screws. «HP serles» Remove these screws. • To use HP series pianos: Place the TLC-2 over the holes under the name plate on the piano, and attach it using the screws supplied with the TLC-2. There is a holes for screws under the name seal. • To use instruments other than those of the ep or HP series: Attach the TLC-2 where you like ( such as to a stand, table, desk, etc. ) using the supplied double-sided tape. [Setting example] ep-7 If you use the double-sided tape to attach the TLC-2 vertically to a surface covered with vinyl, the unit may eventually fall off If you must attach the TL-8 to a vinyl surface, ensure that the installation is horizontal ( ie., sitting on top of something rather than stuck to the side ). If you attach the TLC-2 to a painted surface, the paint may peel off when you try to remove the tape. 7 PREPARATION 2. Setup for the student’s system © Connect the headphones to the PHONE Jack on the TLC-2. (2) Connect the Output Jacks on the instrument to the FROM When using an ep piano, connect the TO PHONE plug on the TLC-2 to either of the PHONES jacks on the instalment. • Securing the DIN Cable The DIN cable on the TLC-2 may be attached to a stand using the supplied cord clamp ( as shown at right ), to avoid accidental disconnection of the cord. Double-sided Tape Press here and thread the cord. 9 PREPARATION 2 — 2. Setup for the teacher’s system © Connect the Head Set ( RHS-300 ) to the TL-8. Connect the PHONES Plug to the PHONES Jack and the MIC Plug to the MIC Jack. (2) Connect the Output Jacks ( OUTPUT ) of the instrument to the Instrument Jacks ( INST IN ) of the TL-8. О О * To use a musical instrument that includes speakers for the teacher, connect a dummy plug to the Headphone Jack so that no sound is output from the speakers. • Securing the DIN Cable The DIN cable on the TL-8 may be attached to a stand using the supplied cord clamp, to avoid accidental disconnection of the cord. Attach the sponge. Double-sided Tape Secure it to a stand. 2 — 3. Connecting the AC Adaptor Cord Hook When connecting the AC adaptor to the TL-8, loop the adaptor cable around the cord hook on the rear of the unit. This will prevent the power cord from accidentally being disconnected. To AC Outlet-* 10 PREPARATION 3. VOLUME CONTROL © Switch on the TL-8. ( The indicator will light. ) POWER (2) Switch on each student instrument. Set the volume control ( VOLUME ) of each instrument to just below ( by about 20 percent ) the MAX position. (3) Switch on the teacher’s instrument.
