Make sure the necessary program(s) is installed according to the manufacturer's instructions. . If a disc is dirty or damaged, your computer will stop responding. If an "X" or an exclamation point appears on the listed device, you may need to enable the device or reinstall the driver software. 5 Double-click the optical disc drive device to open a list of the optical disc drives of your computer. 6 Double-click your desired drive. You can confirm the driver software by selecting the Driver tab, and clicking Driver Details. 7 Click OK to close the window. . Make sure an adhesive label is not affixed to a disc. Adhesive labels can come off while the disc is in the optical disc drive and damage the drive or cause it to malfunction. . If a region code warning appears, the disc may be incompatible with the optical disc drive. Check the package to make sure the region code is compatible with the optical disc drive. . If you notice condensation on your computer, do not use the computer for at least one hour. Condensation can cause the computer to malfunction. . Make sure your computer is running on AC power and try the disc again. Troubleshooting > Optical Discs n143 N What should I do if I cannot play Blu-ray Disc media or my computer becomes unstable during Blu-ray Disc playback? . Check if your optical disc drive supports the Blu-ray Disc media. . To play copyright protected Blu-ray Disc media continually, you need to update the AACS key. If a message prompts you to update the AACS key, follow the message. ! Your computer must be connected to the Internet to update the AACS key. . You may not be able to play some Blu-ray Disc content on your computer, or the computer may become unstable during Blu-ray Disc playback. To play content normally, download and install the latest updates for Blu-ray Disc playback software using the VAIO Update. For information on how to use the VAIO Update, see Updating Your Computer (page 30). What should I do if I cannot write data to CD media? . Make sure you neither launch any software application nor allow any to launch automatically, not even a screen saver. .
