If there is any transport damage, you must not connect the appliance. Disposal in an environmentallyresponsible manner Dispose of the packaging in an environmentallyresponsible manner. Connections Connection to the electricity and gas supply and conversion to a different type of gas should be carried out by a licensed expert. The assembly instructions are enclosed with the appliance. If the appliance is not correctly connected, any claim under the guarantee in the event of damage will be invalidated. No responsibility or liability for any damage or faults arising from poor or incorrect installation is accepted. ¦ 50 Safety information This appliance is only intended for private domestic use. Only use the appliance for preparing food. Adults and children must not operate the appliance unsupervised • if they are physically or mentally incapable of doing so • or if they do not have the knowledge and experience require to operate the appliance correctly and safely. Hot surfaces Risk of burning Never touch the hot gas hobs, interior surfaces of the oven or heating elements. Keep children away from the oven. Open the oven door carefully. Hot steam may escape. Risk of fire Never store flammable objects on the hob or in the oven. Risk of short-circuit Never shut connecting cables for electrical appliances in a hot oven door or pull them over hot gas hob. The cable insulation could melt. Risk of fire Do not place any combustible or highly flammable materials or plastic objects in the drawer — this is located below the secondary oven. Overheated oil and fat Risk of fire Overheated oil and fat ignite very quickly. Never leave fat or oil to heat up unattended. If oil catches fire, never put it out with water. Cover with a lid or dish immediately. Switch off the gas burner. Allow cookware to cool down on the gas hob. 51 Inadequate ventilation when cooking on gas hobs The gas hobs should never be used in unventilated rooms. With gas hobs, additional heat and moisture is released. During a long cooking time, switch on the cooker hood or ventilate the area very well. Risk of fire Never switch on the cooker hood when the hobs are not covered with cookware. Fat residues in the cooker hood filter may ignite. The high heat can damage the cooker hood. Repairs Risk of electrocution Incorrectly carried out repairs are dangerous. Repairs must be carried out by one of our trained after-sales service engineers only. Risk of electrocution Never replace a damaged power cable yourself. The power cable must be replaced by one of our trained after-sales service engineers only. If the appliance is defective, disconnect the fuse in the fuse box. Shut off the gas supply. Call the after-sales service. Faults in the gas installation/smell of gas If you notice a smell of gas or determine faults in the gas installation, you must • shut off the gas supply or close the valve on the gas cylinder immediately • extinguish naked flames and cigarettes immediately • switch off electrical appliances including lights • open windows and ventilate the room well • call the after-sales service or gas supply company Safety valve Close the safety valve on the gas supply pipe if the cooker is not used for a long period. 52 Property damage Damage to the hob Use the gas hobs only when cookware is placed on them. Do not heat up empty pot or pans. This damages the saucepan base. Avoid cooking on the hob with an empty pan and prevent pans boiling dry, in particular enamel and aluminium pans. The saucepan base must be clean and dry. Observe the manufacturer's instructions for special ovenware. Aluminium foil and cling film will melt onto the hot gas hobs. Do not use cookware which needs to be heated over two burners. Heat will accumulate. The appliance could be damaged. Damage to the oven Never prepare dishes on the bottom of the oven. Do not slide a baking tray onto the oven floor. Do not line the oven floor with aluminium foil. Do not place any ovenware on the oven floor. Heat will accumulate. The baking and roasting times will no longer be correct and the enamel will be damaged. Never pour water into the hot oven. This damages the enamel. Do not overfill the baking tray with fruit flans/pies containing a lot of juice. Any fruit juice which drips from the baking tray will leave stains which cannot be removed. Do not lean on or sit on the open oven door. Damage to the front of adjacent units Only let the oven cool down with the oven door closed.
