Switch off the electricity and gas supply before any work is carried out. Before the appliance is installed, check that the local regulations (type of gas and gas pressure) and the appliance settings are compatible. The appliance setting requirements can be found on the identification plate. Electrical appliances must always be earthed. If an extractor hood is to be fitted, this must be carried out in accordance with the appropriate assembly instructions. When fitting, allow a minimum clearance of 650 mm to the hob, or to the height recommended by the extractor manufacturer, whichever is the greater. 26 Before setting up Observe the following information about the appliance and the guidelines on air supply and ventilation. The appliance Appliance classes This appliance is compatible with the following appliance classes: Appliance dimensions Observe the specified dimensions. Appliance class Description Class 1 Cooker not fitted flush Class 2 - Subclass 1 Cooking appliance, which is a single unit, can be flush mounted between two units, so that the side walls are accessible. 27 Adjacent furniture Adjacent furniture must be made of non-flammable materials. This appliance is not connected to an extractor hood. Install the appliance so that natural or channelled ventilation is provided by ventilation openings leading outside or by appropriate pipes. The ventilation must continuously provide enough air for combustion and provide for the discharge of used air. If only this gas-powered appliance is to be set up in the room, an extractor hood must be installed so that the used air is discharged directly. The extractor pipe must: • be routed vertically • be at least twice the length of its diameter • have a minimum section of 100 cm2. For the required air, a ventilation hole of at least 100 cm2 must be provided. The ventilation hole must: • be at least 100 cm2 • lead directly outside • be close to the ground. This ventilation hole must not be blocked from the inside nor from the outside. The vertical difference between it and the extractor pipe must be at least 180 cm. min. 180 cm min. 100 cm2 29 Please note that the volume of air required for combustion must not be less than 2 m3/h per kW power (see kW total power on the identification plate). If there are other gas appliances in the same room, for example, or if natural, direct ventilation is not possible, natural indirect or direct ventilation must be provided. Call in a competent expert to plan and install this ventilation system in accordance with the standards specified in the current guidelines. These ventilation holes should be designed so that users of the room are not subjected to an accumulation of disagreeable odours. It is not permitted to use extractor flaps that are already present for other appliances for the discharge of combustion residues. The vertical difference from the ventilation holes to the electric fan must also be at least 180 cm. min. 180 cm min. 100 cm2 30 Installation The standard appliance includes front moulding, adjustable feet and splash guard.
