• Always use the kettle on a dry level surface. • Do not leave the appliance unattended when in use. • When using this appliance, provide adequate air space above and on all sides for circulation. • On surfaces where heat may cause a problem, an insulating mat is recommended. • Do not place this appliance on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or where it could touch a heated oven. • Do not touch hot surfaces. Use the handle or button. • Do not let the cord hang over the edge of a table or counter where it can be pulled on by children or tripped over unintentionally. Do not let the cord touch hot surfaces or become knotted. • This appliance is not intended for use near or by young children or infirm persons without supervision. • Young children or infirm persons should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with or misuse the appliance. • Always remove the plug from the power outlet before attempting to move the appliance, when the appliance is not in use, before cleaning and storing. • Do not use harsh abrasives, caustic cleaners or oven cleaners when cleaning this appliance. • Do not use this appliance for other than its intended use. • Do not use outdoors. • Always attach plug to appliance first, then plug cord into the wall outlet. It is recommended that before the first use the kettle is filled to the maximum level, boiled and water discarded. Your kettle will only operate when positioned on the power base with the On/Off switch in the On position. The kettle will automatically switch off once the water has boiled. Operation of your kettle 1. To fill the kettle, remove it from the power base and open the lid by pressing the lid release button. Fill with the desired amount of water. Always fill the kettle between the minimum and maximum marks on the water window. Too little water will result in the kettle switching off before the water has boiled. 2. Ensure that the lid is locked firmly into place. Place the kettle firmly onto the power base. Plug the power cord into 110V power outlet. 3. Press the On/Off switch to the ‘On’ position.
