If in doubt, do not use the appliance and take it to an authorised Ser vice Centre. 2. Before plugging the appliance into the mains, check that the data stated on the specification plate match those of the electric supply. The technical specifications are stated on the label stitched to the appliance. 3. Do not use adapters, multiple sockets and/or extension leads. 4. If the plug on the appliance and the mains socket are incompatible, get a qualified person to replace the plug for a suitable one. 5. This appliance must not be used by persons (including children) with physical, sensor y or mental impairments unless they have been instructed in its correct use by a responsible adult. 6. Children must be super vised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance. 7. This appliance must only be used as a foot- warmer, as stated in the instructions. Any other use will be considered hazardous. The manufacturer is not responsible for any damage resulting from inappropriate or incorrect use. 8. When it comes to use any type of electrical appliance there are some basic rules that should be obser ved, namely: -Do not touch the appliance with wet or damp hands or feet. -Do not tug on the mains cable or the appliance to unplug it from the mains socket. -Do not expose the appliance to weather conditions (rain, sun, etc.). 9. Always unplug the appliance from the mains supply before carr ying out any cleaning or maintenance operation on it. 10. Should the safety fuse blow or the electric foot-warmer stop working correctly, switch the appliance off. Do not force it to operate. For any repair, take it to an authorised Ser vice Centre. 11. To avoid dangerous overheating, it is advisable to unwind the mains cable fully and unplug the appliance from the mains socket when not in use. 12. Do not attempt to change the mains cable o n this a ppliance. If it is d amaged, the applia n ce must be thrown away. 13. Periodically check the appliance to see if it shows signs of wear or tear. If you do notice any signs of wear or if the appliance has been misused, then return it to the supplier before continuing to use it. 14. Should you decide to dispose of the appliance it must be rendered unusable by cutting the mains cable off, af ter unplugging it from the mains socket. We advise you to do the same with all potentially hazardous par ts on the appliance, especially those that children might be tempted to play with. 15. The foot-warmer is not to be used with the sick, children or those who are insensitive to heat. The electric heating pad should not be used by children unless the control has been switched on and set by the parent or guardian or the child has been shown how to use the device correctly. 16 Prolonged use of the appliance at maximum temperature may cause burns to the skin. Do not fall asleep while using the foot-warmer. Do not pull the appliance along by the mains cable or use the cable as a carr y handle. 17. Do not pierce with pins or needles OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS IMPORTANT: This foot-warmer has a safety device that controls the temperature by switching the appliance on and off at regular inter vals. To guarantee user safet y, the temperature of the foot-warmer is the maximum permitted by current IEC standards The appliance provides gentle, harmless heat. Operating mode: The UFESA foot-warmer has 4 settings: 0 Off 1 minimum temperature 2 maximum temperature 0 Off Make sure that the control is set to 0 before plugging it in and switching on. For rapid heating turn the control to position 2, after a few minutes the foot-warmer will have reached a pleasant temperature. It is advisable to set the foot-warmer to setting "1" during use as this will maintain the heat produced during the pre-heat stage. WASHING INSTRUCTIONS AND PRECAUTIONS Only the foot-warmer's inner lining can be washed. The outer cover and the mains cable must not be washed or dr y cleaned. Do not use chemical products or solvents to clean them. These products can damage the internal insulating material. To remove small stains from the outer cover, use a dr y or damp cloth making sure that the foot-warmer does not absorb any water. If it becomes wet leave it to dr y naturally. The fleecy inner lining can be hand washed in warm water (40 . max). Take the inner lining off the foot-warmer before washing it. HAND WASH (40°) • WASH ONLY THE DETACHABLE INNER LINING • DO NOT WASH THE OUTER COVER OR WET THE SWITCH OR MAINS CABLE • Follow the washing instructions.
