Verify the weight of the item to be hoisted. review the machine data on page 2 to see if the operation can be completed with a single or doubled- back cable, as shown in figure 8. 4. securely attach the item being lifted by using the lift hook (for single cable use), or the pulley lift hook (for double cable use). never wrap the cable around the item being lifted and hook it onto the cable itself. damage to the object and fraying of the cable can result. 5. 12. use correct harnesses. never use oversized or multiple harnesses in the hook. Use harnesses that are rated for the load being lifted. 13. do not eXpose the hoist or cords to Wet or rainy conditions. Moisture greatly increases the risk of a shock hazard. 14. entanglement hazard. do not hold the cable during operating– clothing and body parts may get caught in the mechanism. 15. never use the hoist for horizontal pulling or dragging. the hoist is designed for vertical movement of a load only.
