HP 3PAR System Reporter 3.1 MU1 P01 requirements
Supported host platforms
Component
Requirement
Operating System
Microsoft Windows Server 2012 (64-bit, English and Japanese language),
Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 (32-bit or 64-bit),
Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 U5-U6 (32-bit only if using Oracle, 32-bit or 64-bit otherwise), or
Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 U1-U2, (32-bit only if using Oracle, 32-bit or 64-bit otherwise).
Processor
Intel Pentium 4 processor, 3 GHz or higher. Multi-core processors are recommended, both for
the database server and for the System Reporter server, especially when sampling a large
configuration (large number of HP 3PAR StoreServ Storage systems or those with a large number
of objects). See system sizing spreadsheet (refer SR 3.1 MU1 User Guide).
Memory
1 GB. See system sizing spreadsheet (refer SR 3.1 MU1 User Guide).
Disk Space
At least 20 GB of available disk space. See system sizing spreadsheet (refer SR 3.1 MU1 User
Guide).
The system size specified in the 'Supported host platforms' table (CPU cores, memory size and disk
space), is the minimum requirement for the System Reporter. However, the resources required depend
substantially on the number and the size of the HP 3PAR StoreServ Storage systems that are being
sampled and as per the sampling parameters. The CD includes a system sizing spreadsheet (refer SR
3.1 MU1 User Guide for SR_Sizing.xls) that must be used to determine the number of CPU cores, the
amount of memory and the database space needed. Instructions for using the spreadsheet are included
as well.
HP 3PAR Storage system requirements

HP 3PAR Operating System (HP 3PAR OS) 2.3.1, 3.1.1 or 3.1.2 (and all subsequent MUs).

Adaptive Optimization (AO) is supported for HP 3PAR OS 2.3.1 MU1, and later MUs for HP 3PAR
OS 3.1.1.
AO is not supported for HP 3PAR OS 3.1.2 or later because, in these releases, AO is implemented
within the HP 3PAR OS.

The maximum CPG size supported when region data sampling is enabled for AO is 250 TiB.

The maximum AO configuration size is limited to 125 TiB.
HP 3PAR System Reporter installation notes
NOTE:
It is assumed that you have installed HP 3PAR System Reporter 3.1 MU1 and currently
upgrading the installation.
A zip archive containing the Windows installer.exe executable file and the Red Hat Linux rpm
packages are provided for HP 3PAR System Reporter. For detailed instructions about upgrading your
HP 3PAR System Reporter installation, see 'Chapter 2 – Installation, Configuration, Update, and
Removal', of the HP 3PAR System Reporter 3.1 MU1 Software User’s Guide.
If Priority Optimization license is installed on the array, before upgrading from SR 3.1 MU1 to SR 3.1
MU1 P01, it is recommended to follow these steps to remove the existing erroneous QoS data from
the database:
1.
Stop the sampleloop service.
2.
Login to database as Administrator or CLI user, and select the schema which contains the System
Reporter related tables.
