1000 sessions. This means that even if there are no sessions in the
system, the service will take 1000*16K, or 16Mb. Under stress, the
system will grow the Session cache size by the Session cache growth
increment. When a session is freed (for example, the user
disconnected) and there are enough sessions in the main cache, the
session will be placed on the garbage cache, which will be collected in
the next synch cycle.
• Session cache threshold. This is a threshold value of the free or unused
sessions in the cache. When the threshold value is reached, the
Instance Aliasing service will allocate more by growing the cache size
by the Session cache growth increment. The default value is 0.
Note for Sites with 1000+ Connections
If your site needs to support 1000+ simultaneous connections, you may
need to disable the SynAttackProtect registry value. This setting may
expose your system to Denial-of-Service attacks. Please refer to the
following article for details.
http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms189083.aspx
SynAttackProtect is located in the following registry key. To disable
SynAttackProtect, set the value to zero (0).
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\
Value name: SynAttackProtect
Key: Tcpip\Parameters
Value Type: REG_DWORD
Valid Range: 0,1
Default: 0
NOTE: In Windows 2003 SP1, the default value for SynAttackProtect is 1.
Restart the Instance Aliasing Service
The Instance Aliasing service is started by the Installer and monitors the
configuration file in its default location (for example, C:\Program
Files\PolyServe\Matrix Server\conf\sns.conf). After moving the file to a
PSFS filesystem, you will need to restart the service.
You can use the Microsoft Management Console Services snap-in to do
this. (One way to access the snap-in is: Start > Control Panel >
