The call is placed to the number set in Target Phone no with the user-defined audio codec as specified on the Settings screen. The test can be manually stopped by pressing Stop Test. After the Megaco/H.248 signaling has completed, data flows across the network and the measurement statistics appear in the IP Phone MG Test screen. To view more details of the QoS, press Details. To save the test results, press Save Results. To restart the test, press Start Test. N2620A User’s Guide Voice Testing with the FrameScope Pro Interpreting Results The statistics measured are plotted in a graphical format. The graph is plotted with the iterations of the timing info as the X-axis and the values of one of the parameters listed as the Y-axis. • R-Factor • Mean Opinion Score • Total Packets Sent • Total Packets Lost • Packet Loss Ratio • Inter-arrival Jitter • Packet Round-trip Delay To view the signaling log details of the test, press Megaco Log on the IP Phone MG Test Details screen. N2620A User’s Guide Voice Testing with the FrameScope Pro Each iterations shown is based on the RTCP message exchanged during the VoIP test. • The Inter-arrival Jitter, Total Packet Loss, and Packet Loss Ratio are based on the received RTP packets. Packet Round-trip Delay is based on the RTCP packet information. • R-Factor and Mean Opinion Score are based on Inter-arrival Jitter, Total Packet Loss, Packet Loss Ratio, and Packet Round-trip Delay. If no RTCP packet is sent, then Packet Round-trip Delay will set to zero. • Total Packets Sent reports the number of packets sent from the FrameScope Pro. • Total Packet Lost is based on RFC 1889/3550 “Cumulative Number of Packets Lost”. • Packet Loss Ratio is based on RFC 1889/3550 “Fraction Lost”. N2620A User’s Guide Voice Testing with the FrameScope Pro How to Save and Retrieve Results The FrameScope Pro VoIP test results are saved to the CompactFlash card. You can recall previously stored test data using the Tests Database tool. This section describes how to recall and delete stored tests. Press Tools on the Main Menu screen to display the Tools menu. On the Tools menu, press Tests Database. The FrameScope Pro VoIP test results are stored in the SIP Phone Test Results and Megaco Test Results folder respectively. The number before the folder names indicates the number of stored files in the folder. To view the stored test in a folder, select the folder and press + or Expand List to expand the folder. To display the test results details, select the test results file and press View. To delete a stored test, select the test results file and press Delete. The VoIP test results can also be retrieved from the FrameScope Pro when the FrameScope Pro web server is enabled. The results are available in .CSV, HTML, or JAVA format. Refer to Chapter 7, “Remote Control” on page 189 for further information. Downloading and Viewing Results with a Web Browser The results can be viewed in a HTML table or graphical form using a browser. You can also download them as a .CSV file for viewing, as described in Chapter 8, “Test Database” on page 242. Agilent Technologies Generating Voice Traffic with the FrameScope Pro VoIP Traffic Overview The VoIP Traffic Generator can generate from one up to 100 valid RTP streams. These RTP streams have the same source and destination IP addresses but different source and destination ports. Each RTP stream contains a valid RTP header and dummy payload data. The following codec types are supported by the VoIP Traffic Generator. • G.711 A-Law • G.711 .-Law • G.729A The test duration, QoS, and Type of Service (ToS) can be configured. The VoIP Traffic Generator feature is controlled by license Option N2620A-03G. Refer to Chapter 7, “License Details” on page 163 for information on activating this feature. Dependencies and Assumptions The generated RTP stream (packets) may have to go through a number of firewalls, proxies, switches, and routers to reach the destination network. These network components should allow the application-generated RTP packets to reach the destination based on the following data. • The user-defined destination IP address • The user-defined destination start UDP port • The source IP address (FrameScope Pro test port address) • The source UDP port, starting with 50000 and incrementing by two for each subsequent stream • RTP version: 2 N2620A User’s Guide Generating Voice Traffic with the FrameScope Pro RTP Header Each call is represented by an RTP stream with the following properties. • Header data. • Version: 2. • The Payload Type (PT) is determined by the ...
