To prevent serious injury from accidental operation: Turn the Power Switch of the tool to its “OFF” position and disconnect the tool from its battery pack before assembling or making any adjustments to the tool. Work Piece and Work Area Set Up Designate a work area that is clean 1. and well-lit. The work area must not allow access by children or pets to prevent distraction and injury. Secure loose work pieces using a 2. vise or clamps (not included) to prevent movement while working. There must not be objects, such as 3. utility lines, nearby that will present a hazard while working. Tool Set Up To prevent serious injury from accidental operation: Turn the Power Switch of the tool to its “OFF” position and disconnect the tool from its battery pack before performing any inspection, maintenance, or cleaning procedures. Press a sand paper sheet onto the Hook and Loop surface of the Mounting Pad (10). Charge the Battery The Charger (SKU 67031) and Rechargeable Battery Pack (SKU 67029) are sold separately. Please refer to the 67031 Charger manual for important safety warnings and proper instructions on charging tool. WARNING! Do NOT use a different Charger or Battery Pack to power this tool. General Operating Instructions Attach the fully charged Battery Pack 1. (sold separately) to the base of the Sander. To power the Sander for short bursts, 2. press in and hold the Power Switch (13), then release it to stop. To lock the Power Switch on for con3. tinuous use: Hold down the Power Switch (13), a. then depress the Lock Button. Release the Power Switch, then b. release the Lock Button. Turn off by depressing then releasing 4. the Power Switch. Sand the workpiece evenly with 5. gentle, broad, sweeping strokes in a crisscross pattern. To prevent accidents, turn off the tool 6. and disconnect its power supply after use. Clean, then store the tool indoors out of children’s reach. Maintenance And Servicing Procedures not specifically explained in this manual must be performed only by a qualified technician. To prevent serious injury from accidental operation: Turn the Power Switch of the tool to its “OFF” position and disconnect the tool from its battery pack before performing any inspection, maintenance, or cleaning procedures. To prevent serious injury from tool failure: Do not use damaged equipment. If abnormal noise or vibration occurs, have the problem corrected before further use. Cleaning, Maintenance, and Lubrication BEFORE EACH USE,1. inspect the general condition of the tool. Check for loose hardware, misalignment or binding of moving parts, cracked or broken parts, damaged electrical wiring, and any other condition that may affect its safe operation. After Use,2. use compressed air to blow dust and debris out of vents. Wipe external surfaces of the tool with clean cloth. Troubleshooting Problem Possible Causes Likely Solutions Tool will not start. Discharged Battery.1. Internal damage or wear. 2. Charge the Battery.1. Have technician service tool.2. Sander does not remove residue from the workpiece, even after repeated brief attempts. Sand paper too fine.1. Using wrong tool for the job at 2. hand. Use a more coarse sand paper.1. Do not continue sanding to avoid 2. damaging workpiece surface. Use another method to remove residue. Excessive noise or rattling. Internal damage or wear. (Carbon brushes or bearings, for example.) Have technician service tool. Overheating Forcing tool to work too hard. Allow tool to work at its own rate. Follow all safety precautions whenever diagnosing or servicing the tool. Disconnect power supply before service.
