Caution: Do not insert the battery backwards or the messages stored in memory will be erased. Installing or replacing battery 1. Turn the pager off. 2. Unlock the battery door lock be sliding the door latch away from the battery door. 3. Slide the battery door in the direction of the arrow (toward the outer edge). 4. Lift the outer edge of the battery door to open. Remove battery. 5. To install a new battery, reverse this procedure, taking note of the positive (+) and negative (-) markings. Turning Your Pager On/Off 1. Ensure battery is installed. 2. Slide the button to N or M position to turn your pager on. The pager performs its self- test by emitting one short beep, lighting the red LED, displaying all icons and numbers, vibrating, and illuminating its backlight for 2 seconds. The pager then displays LS355 and the speaker icon for 4 seconds, indicating that it is ready to receive messages. The pager then displays the time and date, indicating that it is in standby mode. To turn your pager off Slide the button to the &bull (off) position. The pager display turns off. Setting Alert Mode 1. Slide the button to the N (normal) position to select Alert Mode. When switched to Alert Mode, the pager sounds a beep tone for 2 seconds, and the speaker icon is displayed. You can choose a beep or one of six melodies as the alert tone. 2. Push and hold the button until the pager displays: SET TONE 3. Release the button, then push it again. The beep alert sounds and the pager displays: BEEP 4. When you push the button again, the first of 6 melody alerts activates and the pager displays: MUSIC 1 5. When you push the button again, the second melody alert activates and the pager displays: MUSIC 2 6. Continue pressing the button until you hear a melody you want to use as the alert tone. 7. When you have selected the desired tone or melody, return the pager to standby mode by either holding the button for 2 seconds, or allowing the pager to time out for 8 seconds. Setting Vibrate Mode 1. Slide the button to the M (Mute) position to select vibrate mode. When in vibrate mode, the pager will vibrate for 2 seconds. No alert tone will be heard when a page is received. Setting Date and Time 1. Slide the button to M position. 2. Press and hold the button for 2 seconds. The pager displays: 12 HOUR or 24 HOUR 3. Slide the button to the N position or return it to M position to choose 12 hour or 24 hour mode. 4. After choosing 12 hour or 24 hour mode, press the button again to set time and date. Slide the button to the N position to choose the number which you want to change (the number you choose will flash), then press the button to enter the number. 5. Slide the button between N and M position to shift the cursor. 6. To return to standby mode at any time during the date and time setting procedure, allow the pager to time-out for 8 seconds. Message Management Viewing messages 1. When a page is received, press and release the button to display the message. 2. Messages longer than 12 digits will continue on a second screen. This is indicated by the icon in the lower right corner of the display. 3. The icon is displayed if there are any unread messages. 4. When a message is received without numeric data, the pager displays: TONE ONLY 5. The number of unread messages and time received are indicated on the display. 6. Up to sixteen 20-digit messages can be stored in the pager. To read other messages, continue pressing the button to scroll through the messages. Deleting a single message 1. Display the message to be deleted by pressing the button for 2 seconds. 2. Press and hold the button until the pager displays: DEL 3. Release the button. The pager displays the next message. If there are no more messages, the pager displays: NO PAGE Deleting all messages 1. In standby mode, press and hold the button until the pager displays: DEL ALL 2. Release the button. This deletes all messages except unread messages. 3. The pager resumes standby mode. When pager memory is full When there are 16 messages in memory, the pager displays: FULL If this happens, an incoming message deletes the first (oldest) message (read or unread) from memory. After you scroll through all of your messages, the standby screen is displayed. Caring For Your Pager Do not subject the pager to extreme temperatures or moisture. Cleaning To clean smudges and grime from the exterior of the housing, use a soft, nonabrasive cloth moistened with a mild soap and water solution. Rinse the surface using a second cloth moistened with clean water. Do not immerse the pager in water. Do not use any other cleaning solutions. ...
