The result is smooth hair with an intensive, silky shine. Important: Never apply in one place for longer than 2 seconds. Sensor function In order to protect the hair against damage when straightening, the pressure applied to the hair must not be too strong. This is why the hair straightener has been fitted with a sensor function. The pressure on the hair strands is monitored by means of the flexibly mounted heating plates. To activate the sensor function press the Sensor button. If the pressure applied to the hair is in the normal, non-critical range, the Sensor button will light up green. If the pressure is too great, the grip of the hair straightener will start to vibrate and the Sensor button will light up red. Press the heating plates together with less force. When switched off, the Sensor button will not light up. Info: Only switch on the sensor function for “straightening” hair. Switch off the sensor function when “curling” hair. Straightening your hair (Image sequence A) The appliance is suitable for both long and short hair. . Comb the hair and section it into even strands (approx. 5cm wide). . Switch on the Sensor button; the button lights up green. . Set the locking device to U. . Starting from the roots, place a strand of hair between the plates (Figure a). . Press the plates together and pull down gently and evenly toward the ends of the hair (Figure b). . Treat all strands in the same manner. Allow hair to cool completely before styling. Tip: For shoulder-length hair, each strand should take about 10 seconds. Curling your hair There are three methods for curling hair. For each method, separate dry hair into even sections, roughly 2cm wide. The finer the strand, the tighter the curl. Curling with volume in the entire hair (Image sequence B) . Hold the hair straightener level, place the strand of hair between the heating plates and close them. . Turn the straightener 180° and wrap the strand once around the upper heating plate. . Press the plates firmly together and pull the straightener down to the ends of the hair at a steady pace. Hold down the section of hair to be straightened using your free hand. . Now open the plates. 1 112 22 en Curling with volume in the length (Image sequence C) . Hold the hair straightener level, place the strand of hair between the heating plates and close them. . Tip for a longer lasting hair style: Roll up the curl when it’s still hot and fix with a hair clip until cool. Warning: The best and most gentle temperature setting depends primarily on the speed at which the appliance is pulled down the hair (the specified values refer to approx. 2cm / sec.): . For short hair (approx. 10 cm in length), the appliance should be pulled evenly down the strand in approximately 5 seconds. . For shoulder-length hair (approx. 20 cm in length), the appliance should be pulled evenly down the strand in approximately 10 seconds. . For long hair (40 cm in length), the appliance should be pulled evenly down the strand in approximately 20 seconds. . If the appliance is pulled down the hair faster, a higher temperature is necessary (the same result is achieved, but it is more damaging to the hair). For more information on Bosch styling, visit Permanent ionisation This hair straightener has an ionic generator that is always active. This is shown by the word ion in the display. The LED display is also permanently illuminated in red. The hair can become electrostatically charged from combing, the use of hair care products or friction caused by the heating plates. The ions generated (natural electrically loaded particles) reduce this charging and make the hair easier to manage. Your hair is smoother and more glossy, the colour more vibrant. Automatic shut-off For safety reasons this appliance is equipped with an automatic shut-off function. . The appliance switches off automatically approx. 70 minutes after it was switched on or after the temperature selector 3 was adjusted for the last time. The display will go dark.
