* Guard against electric shock by preventing contact with grounded surfaces (for example: pipes, radiators, ranges, refrigerator enclosures). * Never carry gun by its power cord or pull the cord from an electrical outlet. * Use only properly rated extension cords. * Inspect extension cords periodically and replace if damaged. * When tool is outdoors, use only extension cords rated for outdoor use. * When working on small or irregularly shaped objects, secure work in a vise or clamp. * Disconnect the tool when not in use. Avoid unintentional starting. If the gun stops during operating, disconnect from the power supply and have gun serviced by authorized service personnel. WARNING * STAY ALERT! Always pay attention to the work at hand and use common sense when operating this and all tools. Do not operate the tool when you are tired or taking medication or drugs that may make you drowsy. STRIPPING OF PAINT OR VARNISH During removal, each of these finishes reacts differently to the heat as far as time needed and how they appear when heated. Latex may simply soften. Oil base paints will bubble or blister and may start to lift off the wood. Pre-experimentation is recommended, so you do not scorch the wood beneath by excess heat. Choose a suitable scraper, turn on heat gun and allow it to reach full heating power. Point the airflow at the work to be done, keeping the nozzle about 3" - 4" away. Allow the paint to thoroughly soften, which makes removal easier. Move the nozzle slightly from side to side. Do not overheat paint and always keep scraper clean for best results. CAUTION: Lead paint fumes are harmful. Always provide adequate ventilation while working indoors and wear an appropriate respirator mask. Do not use paper or cloth dust masks. REMOVAL OF ADHESIVE FLOOR TILE Under high heat, floor tile adhesives will soften. Point heat gun to small area and lift tile with a scraper, moving the heat gun ahead as tile lifts. Do not immerse any part of the heat gun into a liquid or let any liquid inside the gun.
