A vibrant, beautiful HD picture emerges on the display. That’s all there is to it. 1 OPERATION NOTES READ THESE NOTES BEFORE INSTALLING OR OPERATING THE HDMI SUPER BOOSTER CABLE • A 5V DC power supply is included. In normal scenarios, the source powers the cable by providing a 5V signal within the cable. If the necessary voltage is not present, the included 5V DC power supply may be used to provide power. Please see page 5 for more information. • The HDMI Super Booster Cable must be connect as instructed on page 5. The metal booster head should be located on the display side. The HDMI cable that connects the display to the unit should not exceed 15 feet. • The HDMI Super Booster Cable is HDMI 1.3 Compliant*. Please see the next page for supported HDMI 1.3 features. • The HDMI Super Booster Cable is HDCP Compliant. *This cable meets HDMI 1.3 bandwidth requirements at lengths of up to 100ft. The 150ft and 200ft HDMI Super Booster Cables only support HDMI 1.2 specifications. 2 FEATURES Features • Perfect digital high definition video sent over long stretches of HDMI cables • Locate an HDMI display up to 200 feet away from any HDTV source • Supports resolutions up to 1080p, 2K, and 1920 x 1200 • HDMI/HDCP compliant HDMI 1.3 Features Supported (for lengths up to 100ft): • Deep Color (XV Color) • Dolby TrueHD & DTS Master Audio • 225 MHz (up to 12 bit YUV 444 @ 1080p) • Color Space Conversion • CEC Pass Through • Lip-Sync Pass Through Package Includes (1) HDMI Super Booster Cable (1) 5V DC Power Supply 3 (1) User’s Manual PANEL LAYOUT Female Side Mono-Lok™ Secure Cable Locking Nut Power LED Indicator HDMI Output Equalization Trim Pot Male Side Mono-Lok™ Secure Cable Locking Screw HDMI Male Connector 4 CONNECTING THE HDMI SUPER BOOSTER CABLE How to Connect the HDMI Super Booster Cable 1. Connect the HDMI Super Booster Cable’s male end to the HDMI source. The male end has no lights or adjustment controls on it and is considerably smaller than the larger female end. 2. Connect the HD display to the large female end of the HDMI Super Booster Cable using a short user-supplied HDMI cable. The female end of the HDMI Super Booster has the LED Power Indicator and the EQ Trim Pot control plainly visible. 3. Should it be necessary (see NOTE below), plug the power supply into the female end of the HDMI Super Booster Cable. NOTE: In normal scenarios, the AV source device outputs the 5V signal needed to power the cable. If a sufficient voltage is not provided by the source, the included 5V DC power supply can be connected to the Super Booster Cable. To determine if this is necessary, look to see if the power LED indicator on the front of the HDMI Super Booster Cable head is active (see page 4). If the power LED is not active, the AV source is not supplying the requisite 5V needed to power the HDMI Super Booster Cable and the included power adapter will need to be connected to the power jack on the rear of the Super Booster Cable head (Female Side) as shown below. Female Side (Rear) Rear of Female Side Showing 5V Power Jack for the included Power Supply 5 USING VIDEO EQUALIZATION TO GET AN OPTIMAL PICTURE Video Equalization using the internal DIP switches There is a small bank of switches underneath the booster chassis known as DIP switches. To use them to adjust the video behavior, use a small pointed object to push the switches ON or OFF as follows: DIP Switch 2 is not used. DIP Switch 1 turns on automatic video equalization (tuning out of unwanted noise) when in the OFF position. If video noise is still present, turn DIP Switch 1 to the ON position and then manually tune the signal using the manual equalization (EQ) Trim Pot control. Gently adjust the EQ Trim Pot control using the techniques described immediately below. Manual Video Equalization with the Trim Pot Control The equalization Trim Pot (Potentiometer) can be used to manually fi ne tune the video signal coming from the source device. If there is noise or no picture, adjusting the Trim Pot can resolve the issue. 1. Locate the Trim Pot adjustment port on the HDMI Super Booster Cable head. Insert a small flat-head tool into the port. 2. Gently turn the Trim Pot in either a clockwise or counter-clockwise direction in very small increments until all video noise has been eliminated. The position in which noise is eliminated can be easy to miss. 3. Once the desired video image is obtained, remove the adjustment tool. NOTE: Do not force the Trim Pot past the point where it stops turning. This may break the adjustment dial and render the HDMI Super Booster Cable useless.
