A DM1000 Operating Guide Error Report The Error Report lists the last ten errors in chronological order with the most recent error at the top. It prints on an envelope or tape strip. Screen Display Job Report Account Number Pieces Job: Printed Report The Job Report gives the following information: • Time: date printed report printed • Meter Stamp Serial Number: identifies the meter which printed the report • Station ID: A user-defined number to identify the meter. • Pieces: Total of pieces processed for the account • Postage: Total postage amount charged to the account • Job: mode of operation • Account Number: Number of each account that has used postage • Account Name: Name of each account that has used postage Data Capture The Data Capture Short Report provides information on the data that is Report transferred from the mailing machine through Pitney Bowes Data Center to international use only the Post Office. A 9 Maintaining and Updating Maintaining Your Mailing System Cleaning the Exterior of the Machine Filling the Flap Moistener Bottle Your mailing system and its components need very little maintenance. However, periodically you need to clean the machine and replace tape, moistener fluid and printing supplies. These routine maintenance procedures are presented in this chapter. To clean the outside of your machine, wipe it with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use harsh chemical cleaners. If necessary, clean the display screen on the IntelliLink Control Center™ with a mild glass cleaner and soft cloth. How To Fill the Flap Moistener Bottle 1. Open the main cover. 2. Remove the flap moistener bottle. 3. Refill the bottle with E-Z Seal® or replace the bottle with E-Z Seal cartridges.* 4. Return the bottle to its original position and close the cover. * Pitney Bowes recommends E-Z Seal® Sealing Solution for optimal sealing performance, however, you may use water. Remove the moistener bottle on the right near the tape exit. 3. Refill the bottle with E-Z Seal or replace the bottle with an E-Z Seal cartridge. 4. Return the bottle to its original position. SV60951 Rev. A 9-3 9 Maintaining and Updating Cleaning the How To Clean the Moistener Brush Moistener Brush 1. Move the tape lever to the up position. 2. Move the brush lever to the right to pull the brush mechanism forward. 3. Remove the brush. 4. Rinse the brush under cold water, separating the bristles to remove excess glue and deposits. 5. Lift the brush out by pulling up on the bristles. 6. Place the brush in the case, two or three teeth away from the bottom. The shorter bristles should be against the solid side of the holder. 7. Return the case to the brush mechanism using the lever. 8. Return lever to original position. 9.
