Operation (see illustrations) Your toaster has been equipped with a 0 setting on the browning selector (fig. 1).When the selector is in this position, the toasting lever will pop up and cannot be operated. We advise you to set the browning selector to the 0 setting when the appliance is not in use. This will ensure a measure of safety by preventing accidental turning on of the toaster (e.g. by young children). - Type HD2522: Insert one or two slices of bread (fig. 2a). - Type HD2543: Insert one or two slices of bread (fig. 2b). - For optimal browning results, always put the slices of bread in the centre of the slots as much as possible. - Before switching the appliance on, select the desired browning degree (fig. 3a). • Select setting 1 or 2 for light browning or for toasting only one slice or dry bread. • Select setting 3, 4 or 5 for medium browning. • Select setting 6 for darker browning. • Select setting 7 for toasting frozen bread (fig. 3b). • When you are toasting a series of slices, re-adjustment of the setting is not necessary. - To lower the slices into the toaster, press down the toasting lever (fig. 4). - When ready, the toast pops up and the heating elements are switched off automatically (fig. 5). • If necessary, you can lift the toasting lever a little further to remove smaller slices of bread (fig. 5a). • You can interrupt the toasting process by means of the ‘stop’ button. The toast lever is automatically released (fig. 6). Cleaning and storage • Removing crumbs from the toaster: - First remove the mains plug from the wall socket (fig. 7). - Pull out the crumb tray (fig. 8). Do not remove crumbs by holding the appliance upside down and shaking it. - After use, you can store the mains cord by winding it up (fig. 9). Heating-up rolls or croissants - Place the warming rack on top of the toaster (fig. 10). - Place the rolls or croissants in the centre of the rack (fig. 11). - To prevent overheating, do not put more than two pieces on the rack at the same time. - Set the browning selector to a position between setting 1 and ¬(fig. 12). - The setting must not be higher than 4. - Press down the toasting lever to switch the appliance on. • If you wish to heat up rolls on both sides, just turn them upside down after the toaster has switched off. Switch the appliance on again (do not change the setting). 1 0 2 4 5 6 7 1 7 5 4 3 2 1 0 2 1 4 0 1 2 5 6 7 0 0 7 6 5 4 32 1 HD2523 2a 1 0 2 4 5 6 7 2b 3a HD2543 0 7 6 5 4 32 1 5 5a 4 1 0 2 4 5 6 7 3b 7 6 5 4 3 2 0 0 0 1 0 2 4 5 6 7 6 7 8 9 10 HD2523 HD2542 0 7 6 5 4 321 07 6 5 4 32 1 11 1 0 2 4 5 6 7 12 7 6 5 4 3 2 1 0 0 0 6 5 4 7 0 1 2 Gebruik (zie illustraties): De bruiningsknop van uw broodrooster is voorzien van een 0-stand (fig. 1).
