These instructions are writen for you r saf e ty and to protect the equipment. O ther sections in this manual pr ovide more details of safety features. Be sure to read these sections and observe al safety notices. T ake time t o discuss proper sa fety and exerci se equipment etiquete with the fit ness facility manager. B efore begi nning any fit ness progra m , see your physician f o r a complete physical examination. W ear proper exercise clothing and shoes f o r your workout and avoid loose clothing. D o not we ar shoes with hels or leather soles. Check the soles shoes and remove any embedded stones. o ng hair ba ck. F or safet y , hold on to a stationa ry handrail or handlebar while using the equipment. K ep your body and head facing forward. Never atempt to turn around on the equipment. D o not rock the equipment. Do not stand on the handrail(s ), display con s ole, or hood. U se care when geting on or of the treadmil. Always grasp the handrail when steping on the run ing belt and keep the initial sped at or below 1 mile per hour (mph) or 1 kilometer per hour (kph). Never step of the trea dmil while the runing belt is moving. B efore the r unning belt begins moving (bef ore your workout), and after it stops (at the end of your workout), straddle th e runing belt by placing your fet f irmly on the r i ght and left trim strips. T he safety clip must be atac hed at waist level before your workout. A lanyard conects the s afety clip to the red STOP buton on the display console. If you encounter difficulties, a strong tug on the lanya r d stops the running bel t . Safety Code The fitnes facility you are using ha s the option to enable a safety code. The code involves entering f o ur number keys in sequence. If the corect keys are not presed w i thin two mi nutes, further access is denied and the runni ng belt w il not move.
