Issue: Disk Management snap-in fails
The Disk Management snap-in can fail in the following instances:
• If multiple Server Manager instances are open and the Disk Management snap-in is selected in more than
one Server Manager instance
• If the Disk Management snap-in is opened in Server Manager and also from the Disk Manager console in
Administrative tools
• If multiple Disk Management snap-ins are opened in Server Manager
Workaround: This is a Microsoft issue which will be resolved in a future release. To work around this issue,
use only one Disk Management snap-in instance at a time.
Additional applications and utilities
This section provides additional information on using certain applications and utilities on the storage
system.
Issue: When using the Active Directory Lightweight Directory Services (ADLDS) script to import UNIX groups,
the associated UNIX users are not bound to the imported group.
Workaround: To include a user in an imported group, you must manually add the users to the group using
the Local Users and Groups MMC snap-in.
Issue: On some X1000 and X3000 storage systems, a momentary press of the power button results in an
Operating System shutdown.
Workaround: Confirm that the power settings for the storage system ignore the power button or disable the
power button in the system BIOS.
Issue: Installing Microsoft security update KB973507 results in the Microsoft iSCSI Software Target not displaying
iSCSI target devices when the Devices node is selected in the iSCSI Target management console.
The iSCSI LUNs and iSCSI targets remain operational and the associated devices are listed when individual
target instances are selected. Additional information about the security update can be found at http://
support.microsoft.com/kb/973507.
Workaround: Either uninstall the service release (giving consideration to the ramifications of uninstalling the
service release) or accept the unexpected behavior until an update is released by Microsoft that fixes the
behavior.
Issue: HPSUM incorrectly reports a ProLiant Support Pack component as not installed
Even though the StorageWorks Fibre Channel Array Notification Driver is installed with the image, when the
HPSUM utiltiy is run to check for required updates, this driver is listed as Ready for installation instead of
Already up-to date as expected.
Workaround: This issue will be resolved in a future release.
