Workaround: Do not supply a static IP address for any network over which client access is not desired.
Leave the address at the default setting for that network, which is the subnet address. Only networks
for which a valid static IP address has been supplied are used. You can review which networks have
been selected before submitting the configuration changes.
In Enclosure Manager, the DNS address is automatically selected as the default gateway
address
If, when you select Manually configure a static IP address in the Enclosure Manager Settings dialog
box, you leave the default gateway field blank and enter the DNS address, the DNS address is
automatically set as the default gateway. As a result, you cannot manage the Enclosure Manager
settings remotely through ssh because the gateway is incorrect.
Workaround: Use Remote Desktop Connection to access the nodes and the Enclosure Manager settings.
Use the Enclosure Manager Settings tool to fix the assignment of the gateway, which will enable you
to use SSH.
System Manager displays “Flash failed for X5000 Expansion Node I/O Module” even
though the firmware was updated successfully
If you have an X5000 G2 connected to a D2600 or D2700 disk enclosure that is running firmware
version 0103, an updated version of disk drive firmware is included with the latest service release.
When applying the updates for the disk drive firmware on the System Manager Firmware tab, the
following error message may display after the upgrade has completed successfully: “Flash failed for
X5000 Expansion Node I/O Module”.
Workaround: After you have completed upgrading all components and reboot the system, the error
message no longer displays on the System Manager Firmware tab. The disk drive firmware was
upgraded successfully.
Status messages about disk drive firmware upgrades may seem contradictory but are
not
For some disk drive firmware, there is one Smart Component executable that upgrades the firmware
for disk drives within the X5000 servers and the disk drives in attached disk enclosures. In this scenario,
when upgrading the disk drive firmware on the System Manager Firmware tab, the Additional
Information column may display two messages for one component that seem contradictory, but they
are not. As an example, messages similar to the following may be displayed:
Flash not attempted for HP X5000 Storage Enclosure HDD using cp017205.exe: Drive model(s) not supported.
Check log file (c:\CPQSYSTEM\log\cpqsetup.log) for further information.
Flash succeeded for INTERNAL SERVER HDD using cp017205.exe.
The system must be restarted to complete the operation.
The first message applies to the external disk enclosure and indicates the drive model is not supported
because an external disk enclosure is not attached. The second message applies to the disk drive
within the X5000 servers. This scenario applies for the following Smart Component executables and
disk drive models:
Smart Component file name
Enclosure disk drive model
Server disk drive model
Cp016024.exe
EG0600FBLSH, EG0900FBLSK
EG0300FBLSE
Cp017025.exe
EG0600FBDBU
EG0300FBDBR
Cp016020.exe
EG0600FBDSR
