(2) If the Power Cord seems hard to unwind due to improper winding, pull firmly until it is released. (3) When retracting the Power Cord, always hold the Plug with one hand while pressing the Cord Wind Button with the other hand, and retract the cord slowly. (4) If the Cord does not retract completely, pull it out slightly and wind it again while guiding it into the reel. READ THIS INSTRUCTION BOOK THOROUGHLY BEFORE USING YOUR Panasonic IRON TO BECOME FAMILIAR WITH THE IRON FEATURES HELPFUL IRONING TIPS The Temperature Selector Dial of the Panasonic iron has numbers, dots and steam symbols. a) The numbers are indicated as 1 (lowest setting) through 6 (highest setting). For general information of the number settings, refer to the heel rest. For more detailed information, refer to page 12 of this instruction book. b) The dots are symbols for 3 temperature ranges: • Low Temperature •• Medium Temperature • •• High Temperature Some fabrics are labeled with these dots as a guide for selecting the proper ironing temperature setting. c) The steam symbols are used for selecting steam settings. For further details, refer to page 6-10 As a guide to the Fabric Care Symbols, the following symbols are printed for your information. Fabric Care Symbols Washing Bleaching Ironing Dry Cleaning A symbol crossed out indicates that the article of clothing must not be subjected to the particular treatment. EXAMPLE:(DO NOT BLEACH) ^ Before ironing, sort the garments according to the different heat settings required. Iron fabrics that require a lower temperature first. Do not touch plastic buttons with a hot iron because they may melt. Be careful around zippers and similar items to prevent the soleplate from scratching. -5- HOW TO FILL WITH WATER Make sure the iron is turned off and the AC Power Cord is unplugged from the electrical outlet. The iron can be filled with the Detachable Water Tank in place or removed. Confirm that the Steam /Dry Selector is set at the Dry ironing position (LEFT) when installing or removing the Tank. 1. When the iron is sitting up on the Heel Rest, press the Tank Lock/Release Button down and the Tank will be released. 2. Grasp the Tank and lift it off the iron. NOTE: Do not pull on or damage the rubber gasket that joins the main part of the iron with the Water Tank. Note: 3. Open the Water Fill Opening and fill the Tank up to the" MAX" Line on the Tank. To check the level of water, grasp the Tank vertically. 4. To re-install the Tank, set the Tank onto the main body and press into place until a click sound is heard. 5. The water level can be observed through the transparent part of the Tank, when iron is placed vertically. When the water level becomes low, refill the Tank, following the procedure describ...
