Do not use condensation from tumble dryers, air conditioning systems etc . This appliance has been designed to use normal tap water. To prolong the optimum operation of the steam function, mix tap water with distilled water 1:1. If the tap water in your district is very hard, mix tap water with distilled water 1:2. Never fill beyond the “max” water level mark. Getting ready (1) Remove any labels or protective coverings from the soleplate. Ironing without steam (2) Ironing with steam (3) Only when the steam symbol is shown on the navigation display. Spray (4) Do not use the Spray function with silk. Shot of steam (5) or “auto” temperature selection. The interval between shots should be 5 seconds. Vertical steam (6) Do not iron clothing while it is being worn. Never direct the steam at persons or animals. Interval between shots should be 5 seconds. Wait 10 seconds after each 4-shot cycle. Multiple descaling system (7) Depending on the model, this range is equipped with the “AntiCalc” (=component 1 + 2 + 3) descaling system. 1. self-clean Each time you use the steam regulator, the “self-clean” system cleans any scale deposits from the mechanism. 2. calc‘n clean The “calc‘n clean” function helps to remove scale particles from the steam dispenser. The iron includes a system to warn when the dispenser needs periodically cleaning. When the „calc ‚n clean“ symbol lights up on the navigation display the dispenser needs cleaning. Fill the water tank. Plug in the iron and select the temperature setting . After the necessary warm-up period, unplug the iron and hold it over a sink. Position the steam regulator to the “calc’n clean” position and keep it in this position. Gently shake the iron. Boiling water and steam will come out, removing any scale or deposits that might be there. When the iron stops dripping, position the regulator to the position. For improved descaling, heat up the iron again fully and press the steam button several times in quick succession. Then wait until the remaining water has evaporated from the soleplate of the iron. Once it has been cleaned, the cleaning warning must be cancelled on the navigation display. To do this, simply press and hold the on/set navigation key for more than 5 seconds, with the iron plugged in. If you do not do this, the cleaning icon will remain lit. 3. anti-calc The “anti-calc” cartridge has been designed to reduce the build-up of scale produced during steam ironing, helping to extend the useful life of your iron. Nevertheless the “anti-calc” cartridge cannot remove all of the scale that is produced naturally over time. “Secure” auto shut-off function (8) (Depending on model) The “Secure” auto shut-off function switches off the iron when it is left unattended, thus increasing safety and saving energy.
