. Beforeusingyourappliancefortheirst time Remove any label or protective cover fromthe soleplate. For further details on the following actions, please refer to the related chapters in this user manual. Fill the tank of the iron with tap water and set thetemperature control to “max”. Plug in theappliance to the mains. When the steam iron has reached the desired temperature, let the water create steam by setting the steam regulator to“max” and by repeatedly pressing the button . During it irst use the iron may producecertain vapours and odours that will die awayafter a few minutes. 1Fillingthewatertank Set the steam regulator to the positionand unplug the iron from the mains! Use only clean water from the tap without mixinganything with it. The addition of other liquids, such as perfume, will damage the appliance. Any damage caused by the use of theaforementioned products, will make theguarantee void. Do not use condensation water from tumble dryers, air conditionings or similar. This appliancehas been designed to use normal tap water. To prolong the optimum steam function, mix tapwater with distilled water 1:1. If the tap water inyour district is very hard, mix tap water withdistilled water 1:2. Never ill beyond the “max” water level mark. 14 2SettingthetemperatureTempOK2SettingthetemperatureTempOK Check the recommended ironing temperature inthe label on the garment. TemperatureSuitablefor: . synthetics .. silk – wool ... cotton max linen i-Temp* any type of fabric which can beironed AntiShine* dark and delicate fabrics. Reduces the risk of shiny marks. * model dependent • While the soleplate is heating up or coolingdown to the selected temperature, the lights inside the temperature selector will lash. Whenthe selected temperature is reached, the lights will stop lashing and remain lit continuously. Tips: • Sort your garments according to their carelabels, always starting with clothes that have tobe ironed at the lowest temperature. • If you are unsure what type of material thegarment is made from, select the “i-Temp” function. • To prevent shiny patches on dark or delicategarments like silk, woollen or synthetic materials, select the “AntiShine” function. • If you start ironing at a high temperature andthen select a lower one, the soleplate may takea while to cool down. To speed up the coolingprocess, you may press the button or set the steam regulator to a high setting. “i-Temp” function (Model dependent) This steam iron has a unique “i-Temp” function. If this function is selected, an appropriate temperature is set which is suitable for all fabrics that can be ironed. The “i-Temp” function prevents clothes from becoming damaged due to an unsuitabletemperature being selected. The “i-Temp” function does not apply tofabrics that cannot be ironed. Please check the garment care label for details or try ironing on apart of the fabric not visible normally. When the “i-Temp” function is selected, the bluelight inside the temperature selector comes on. “AntiShine” function (Model dependent) This steam iron has a unique “AntiShine” function. If this function is selected, the risk of shiny marks on the garment due to the ironing is reduced. When the “AntiShine” function is selected, the blue light inside the temperature selector comes on. 3“SensorSecure” function The “SensorSecure” function switches off the iron when the handle is no longer gripped, thus increasing safety and saving energy. • Initial heating up process: After plugging inthe appliance, this function will be inactive untilthe iron heats up to the set temperature. • After the initial heating up period (the lights inside the temperature selector stop lashing), the “SensorSecure” indicator light comes onand starts lashing. • From th...
