When the first programme is recorded on a cassette, the VCR Navigation gives the register number to the cassette. The VCR Navigation memorizes the cassette by the number. You can confirm the register number of the cassette when the cassette is loaded or ejected. The VCR Navigation can register up to 2000 programmes or up to 680 cassettes. The following screen appears as the VCR Navigation screen when you select a programme. (. pg. 37) A Playback screen (Indicates currently received TV programme.) B Guidance for operations C Scroll bar (Appears when there are over nine registered programmes (or play lists). The scroll bar only indicates that there are more programmes (or play lists) hidden off the current screen display. To show hidden programmes (or play lists), press rt repeatedly.) D Inserted cassette information (Loaded cassette number, title, total recorded time and remaining recording time based on the currently selected speed.) E Selected programme information (Recorded date, time, channel position number, recording speed, title) F Index (Thumbnail still of each programme) G Index : Indicates no index is registered. : Indicates programme in standby for timer recording. : Indicates no programme is registered. The Icons and their meanings This programme has a little gap at the beginning. This programme has never been played back. This programme has stereo sounds. I This programme has bilingual sounds. This programme was timer recorded. Scan for Beginning of Programme The VCR Navigation can take effect for the programme which has been recorded, and whose information has been registered with this recorder. Once the VHS (S-VHS) cassettes have been used for recording with this recorder, they have the register number given by this recorder. . Turn on the TV and select the AV mode. . Slide TV/CABLE/SAT switch to the right. . If the recorder is turned on with HDD deck selected, there may be about 30 seconds’ delay in starting to show pictures on the screen. ? EN 37 A A Turn on the recorder. Press 1. B B Select the VHS deck. Press S-VHS. C C Load the cassette. Insert a cassette with the record safety tab intact. D D Access the Index screen. On the recorder Press NAVIGATION. On the remote control A Press NAVIGATION. The VCR Navigation screen appears. B Confirm the arrow is on “INDEX”, then press OK. . If a registered cassette has been loaded, the contents of the loaded cassette will appear. E E Select the programme. On the recorder Turn the JOG dial to select the programme, then press the JOG dial. On the remote control Press wret to move the arrow on the index (small still pictures) of the desired programme, then press OK. F F Start playback. Press we to move the arrow to “PLAY” on the Index screen, then press OK again. G G Pause playback. Press 9. . To resume normal playback, press 4. H H Stop playback. Press 8. Sort Recorded Programmes by Record Date/Cassette Number and Playback You can easily search for a desired programme in the Index screen by sorting according to the record date or cassette number registered during recording. Perform steps A and B of “Scan for Beginning of Programme”(. pg. 37) before continuing. A A Access the Navigation screen. Press NAVIGATION. B B Access the date/title screen. Press wret to move the arrow to “DATE” or “CASSETTE #”, then press OK. C C Select the programme and confirm the cassette number. Press wret to move the Cassette number arrow to the desired programme (cassette), then press OK. D D Load the cassette. After you have found the programme and checked the related cassette number, insert the cassette. E E Select the programme and start playback. Perform steps D to E of “Scan for Beginning of Programme” (. pg. 37). 38 38 N RECORDING/PLAYBACK ON VHS DECK (cont.) Sort Recorded Programmes by Category and Playback You can easily search for a desired programme in the Index screen by sorting according to the category option registered during recording (or after recording). Perform steps A and B of “Scan for Beginning of Programme”(. pg. 37) before continuing. A A Access the Navigation screen. Press NAVIGATION. B B Access the date/title screen. Press wret to move the arrow to “CATEGORY”, then press OK. C C Select the category, then the programme, then confirm the cassette number. A Press wret to move the arrow to the desired category, then press OK. Programmes having the selected category option appear in the list. . To register the category option, refer to “Family Option Preset” (. pg. 27) and step J of “SHOWVIEW® Timer Programming” (. pg. 46). B Press wret to move the arrow to the desired programme, then press OK. D D Load the cassette. After you have found the programme and checked its cassette number, insert the cassette. E E Select the programme and start playback. Perform steps D to C of “Scan for Beginning of Programme”(. pg. 37) before continuing.
