user-defined default settings in the System Utilities to override the system default settings. For more

Secure Boot ensures that only firmware components, UEFI applications, and operating system
boot loaders that have appropriate digital signatures and that have been verified authentic can
execute during the boot process. Each component launched during the boot process is digitally
signed and that signature is validated against a set of trusted certificates embedded in the UEFI
BIOS. Secure Boot does not require any special hardware, such as a Trusted Platform Module,
to function. Secure Boot can only be enabled in UEFI Boot Mode. For more information, see the
HP UEFI System Utilities User Guide for HP ProLiant Gen9 Servers.
Enhancements
The following are enhancements in the version 1.20 ROM update:

Added support for the HP Dynamic Smart Array B140i to enable the user to launch the HP Smart
Storage Administrator (HPSSA) application from the System Utilities menu.

Updated the HP RESTful API resources of type HpBiosAttributeRegistrySchema to schema
version 1.1.0, adding additional meta-data for Immutable and Write-Only BIOS attributes.

Updated the language translations (non-English modes) for System Utilities.

Updated the help documentation for System Utilities and the UEFI Embedded Shell.

Updated the HpBiosAttributeRegistry resources to match the latest BIOS/Platform
Configuration options.
Fixes
The following issues existing in version 1.0.0 have been fixed in version 1.20:

You can no longer enter an Administrator Password or a Power-On Password with a length of 32
characters. These passwords must be a maximum length of 31 characters.
IMPORTANT:
If you previously entered a 32-character Administrator Password or Power-On
Password, you must do the following after updating to this version of system ROM:
1.
On the server, set Switch 5 to the ON position to disable the 32-character passwords.
2.
Re-enter the Administrator Password and Power-On Password into the system with a maximum
length of 31 characters.

Selecting Erase User Defaults (to erase user-defined defaults) in BIOS/Platform Configuration
(RBSU) did not take effect if you also selected Restore Default System Settings or Restore Default
Manufacturing Settings.

The Integrated Management Log (IML) or operating system log reported multiple error entries
when a Non-Maskable Interrupt (NMI) occurred.

The system might shut down if a fatal error occurred in the pre-OS environment (such as the System
Utilities or Embedded UEFI Shell) and not log an entry into the Integrated Management Log (IML).

The server became unresponsive during boot with DIMM configurations, both when configured
with 16GB and 32GB LRDIMMs.

An HP Smart Array controller installed in a PCI Express Slot attached to Processor 2 might not be
visible on the first boot after the server experienced an unexpected shutdown that required using
the HP Smart Storage Battery to backup storage data.

The system continued to run (not performing a blue screen or reset as expected) when a Non
Maskable Interrupt (NMI) occurred when using Microsoft Windows 2008 or Microsoft Windows
2008 R2 when Processor x2APIC Support was set to enabled (the default value). This issue did
not impact other operating systems.
