Making the Connections * To prevent malfunction and/or damage to speakers or other devices, always turn down the volume, and turn off the power on all devices before making any connections. * When connection cables with resistors are used, the volume level of equipment connected to the INPUT jacks may be low. If this happens, use connection cables that do not contain resistors. [ON] switch CAUTION This turns the unit on/off. When the unit is turned on, the indicator will light in orange. After approximately 30 minutes have passed without any signal being input, the indicator will light in green, and the unit will enter standby mode. The unit will return to the ordinary mode if audio is once again received from the equipment you have connected, or you once again turn the unit on using the [ON] switch. * If you need to turn off the power completely, first turn off the [ON] switch, then unplug the power cord from the power outlet. Refer to Power Supply (p. 2). AC IN connector Connect the supplied power cord here. Connect it securely, so it won’t get disconnected. [VOLUME] knob Adjusts the volume of the sound from the device connected to the INPUT jacks. [WOOFER] knob Adjusts the volume of the sound from the woofer (bass range), which is one portion of the overall sound. To power outlet The sound from the woofer is emitted from here. INPUT (Stereo) jack Here’s where you can connect a drum sound module, using a commercially available cable that has a stereo mini plug. * The sound may distort if you raise the volume too much. If you run into this problem, lower the volume on the device that you have connected. INPUT (R, L/MONO) jacks Here’s where you can connect a unit from the Roland V-Drums TD series or an electronic musical instrument, using commercially available cables that have 1/4” phone plugs. * When connecting a monaural device, connect to the INPUT L/MONO jack. Example Front Rear * The INPUT (Stereo) jack and the INPUT (R, L/MONO) jacks can be used at the same time. By turning on devices in the wrong order, you risk causing malfunction and/or damage to speakers and other devices. 1. Turn on the power on the device you have connected to the INPUT jack. 2. Turn on the PM-03. When turning off the unit, reverse the procedure given above. * Before turning the unit on/off, always be sure to turn the volume down. Even with the volume turned down, you might hear some sound when switching the unit on/off. However, this is normal and does not indicate a malfunction. When connecting the PM-03 to the Roland V-Drums Lite, set things up as illustrated below. This way, you’ll be able to enjoy the powerful 2.1 ch drum sounds at the proper balance. * Concerning placement and setup, make sure to also read the section entitled “Placement,” under “Important Notes” (p. 2).
