5 Known problems and limitations
The following problems and limitations are known to exist in this release:

Ethernet parameter restrictions
For PCI and PCI-X LAN adapters that use the iether driver, HP does not recommend changing
the default values of the following four tunables. It has been found that certain combinations
of these tunables (other than the default settings) could result in adapter hangs.

recv_max_bufs
◦
send_coal_ticks
◦
recv_coal_ticks
These tunables are not supported with PCI-E adapters that use the iether driver.
6 Compatibility and installation requirements

6.1 Operating system and version compatibility
This release is specific for HP-UX 11i v3 (B.11.31).
6.2 Hardware requirements
This version of IEther-00 runs on HP Integrity and HP 9000 servers with the HP-UX 11i v3 (B.11.31)
operating system.
6.3 Firmware requirements
IMPORTANT:
To ensure full functionality, you must install the latest adapter firmware and Extensible
Firmware Interface (EFI) driver for your adapter.
The IEther-00 (iether) requires the latest firmware for supported devices. For more information,
see the latest HP-UX Ethernet Card Support Matrix at:

Network adapters supported on HP 9000 systems do not require separate firmware updates. The
IODC (boot driver) is already built into the system firmware. Refer to the respective system firmware
recipe. To determine and download the latest adapter firmware and EFI driver for an Integrity
product, follow these steps:
1.
Go to http://www.hp.com.
2.
Click the Support & Drivers link on the main page.
3.
Click the Drivers & Software tab.
4.
Enter your product name (for example, NC364m) or enter the product number and click
Search.
5.
Click the Cross operating system (BIOS, Firmware, Diagnostics, etc.) link.
