Maintenance Procedures Most guide bar problems can be prevented merely by keeping the chain saw well maintained. Incorrect filing and non-uniform cutter and depth gauge settings cause most guide bar problems, primarily resulting in uneven bar wear. As the bar wears unevenly, the rails widen, which may cause chain clatter and difficulty in making straight cuts. Insufficient guide bar lubrication and operating the saw with chain that is too tight will contribute to rapid bar wear. To help minimize
Veiller à une bonne aération pendant toute manipulation de carburant._ Petrol • Use good quality unleaded or leaded petrol. • The lowest octane recommended is 90. If you run the engine on a lower octane grade than 90, so-called knocking can occur. This gives rise to a high engine temperature, which can result in serious engine damage. ° For work with continuously high revs a higher octane rating is recommended. If the spark plug is dirty, clean it and check that the electrode gap is 0.5 mm (0,020").The spark plug should be replaced after about a month in operation or earlier if necessary. Note! Always use the recommended spark plug type! Use of the wrong spark plug can damage the piston/cylinder. Check that the spark plug is fitted with a suppressor. Lubricating the bar tip sprocket Lubricate the bar tip sprocket each time you refuel. Use the special grease gun and a good quality bearing grease. Needle

Never starve the bar and chain of oil. Running the saw with too little oil will decrease cutting efficiency, shorten saw chain life, cause rapid dulling of chain, and cause excessive wear of bar from overheating. Too little oil is evidenced by smoke, bar discoloration or pitch build-up. A B Fig. 10 Automatic Oiler Your chain saw is equipped with an automatic gear driven D oiler system. The oiler automatically delivers the proper amount of oil to the bar and chain. As the engine speed increases,

Lubricate the clutch bearing with the same type of grease as used for the guide bar with nose wheel, i. e. ball bearing grease. Use the grease gun supplied with the kit of tools: Remove the clutch housing. Inject grease through the hole in the centre of the clutch. Two strokes of the grease gun will be sufficient. (Check that grease emerges from the gun when it is pumped.) Schmieren des Nadellagers in der Kupplungstrommel Das Kupplungslager mit Fett der gleichen Art wie die Schiene mit Umlenkrol
